I've just added Geek Golf to my catalog. The
winner of this year's ReMax Longdrive Open
Championship used a Geek DCT (dot com this)
clubhead. The DCT is a low spin, low launch
head and is available as a component or
assembled club. The Geek DCT has also been
included in the 2008 Golf Digest Hot List, at
newstands soon.
Introductory price for the component is $125,
now until the end of January 2008 .
The Open champ used a new shaft called the "whup n shaft" from House of Forged. They've developed (under contract with Matrix) a shaft for those of us that don't compete in longdrive competitions with average swingspeeds. It's a great shaft, information is with the new Geek clubhead info, see the link below. I'll be adding the entire Geek line online over the next few weeks, email me for a quote on any of their component line. |

New Aldila DVS shaft is starting to create a
bit of a buzz with the online discussion
groups. I've seen some impressive launch
monitor numbers showing that this new shaft
profile can add distance without sacrificing
feel. VERY jazzy red paint treatment, too.
The DVS60 is in stock now, 70, 80 and
hybrid's coming soon. Free shipping to lower
48 until the end of January for my Clubmaker
Report readers.
Here's the information on the DVS from my friends at Aldila: The DVS is a shaft with a soft tip section (softer than VS Proto, almost as soft as NVS but not quite), with a stiff butt section (5 to 7 cpm stiffer than the same flex NV or VS Proto - this corresponds to being 1/3 to ∏ of a flex stiffer). The story is to provide a shaft that has outstanding kick (this shaft would be labeled a low kick point) with the corresponding performance attributes of a low kick shaft - high launch / moderate spin, but without the loose/whippy feeling of most low kick (soft tip) shafts. It is also low torque (same as VS Proto, lower than NV) which will give greater control and better control of spin than most soft tip products. Geared towards the player looking for higher launch with controlled spin, that doesn't like the club to feel loose. |

Somehow I end the season with 8 of the new
Grafalloy Epic . 350 tip shafts and I'll
offer a 12th Anniversary Special. I've got 4
Stiffs, 1 R, and 3 X flex in .350 and I'll
include a free Epic headcover and a special
price (email for price) until these 8 shafts
are gone.
Here's the marketing information on the shaft:
Epic represents the first sporting goods product that has been truly enabled by advances in nanotechnology. Our proprietary Nanofuse material is created by harnessing the superior strength properties of nano-crystalline metals and fusing them at the molecular level with a composite polymer substrate. The result is an entirely new high-performance shaft material that offers increased distance with a 35% improvement in shot dispersion compared to graphite shaft on the market today. |

Mitsubishi has a new shaft line called the
JavLn. The driver has a firm tip profile like
the whiteboard but a slightly stiffer butt
section and a new super secret material
called TRH50 and a nifty matt blue paint
treatment. In 60/70/80g weight series and
priced below the premium Diamana line.
The JavLn series will also include a 70 and 90 series .370 hybrid to compliment the .355 Bassara hybrid now available and they've also announced a new 80 parallel tip iron to round out the JavLn series. Woods available around the 1st of February and the hybrid and irons shortly after. I'll let you know when everything is at Clubmaker Online |

Seems a lot of my friends that are obsessed
with golf equipement are also obsessed with
fishing equipment so I've decided to add a
premium fishing rod series from Element 21
(E21) to my catalog. Element 21 has been
making waves with their excellent Scandium
alloy shafts for irons and hybrids (watch for
upcoming infomercials) and I've been playing
their E21 open face hybrid and love it.
They've recently signed some big names in
golf, watch for E21 to make a big splash in 2008.
The Carrot LTX Rods are the first Element 21 line of rods to be introduced to the consumer. The Carrot Stix is constructed using a revolutionary new composite material that is actually made from ultrah high modulus graphite and carrots (nano-level bio fibers is how they like to put it). That's right, carrots! The nano bio-fibers of carrots exhibit numerous positive qualities of both graphite and glass These rods are super light and strong weighing 3.1 oz. at 6 feet 9 inches length with parabolic action. The Carrot LTX is part of the new line of Element 21 revolutionary fishing rods designed by the winning designer Ken Whiting. Element 21's scientific breakthrough and revolutionary designs have received the highest industry honors, by winning three first prizes, including the "Best of Show" at the 2007 iCAST show. I'm working on the pages as we speak and will announce when they're up and running. I can sell the rods now, several different designs are available. Send me a note if you're an avid fisherman and I'll put you on a special sublist of the clubmaker report so you get updates on the new fishing goodies. |
