November 2007 The Clubmaker Report
Greetings!
SMT has longest drive at Remax

Regular readers of The Clubmaker Report will recall that I've been touting the SMT 455 Deep Bore clubhead for quite some time as my favorite driver head. I've had the 455 as my "driver of the week" for several years.

SMT had a great week at the Remax Longdrive competition in Mesquite recently with the longest drive in the competition at 408 yards and 3 of 5 longest drives in the competition (all with the 455 Deep Bore). Clubhead isn't just for longdrive bombers. I like the higher lofted clubs (11/12/14 deg) for seniors with the Accuflex Iconlite shaft (46 g). Lots of other choices to fit your swing, let me know if I can help.

Yes! Putter Wins final PGA Event of Season

Winner of this weekend's season ending PGA event switched to a Yes! Golf Valerie mallet putter a few weeks ago. He was 1st in total putts on his way to victory. Watch for same putter in the upcoming Skins event, lots of TV exposure for my favorite putter company.

Golf Magazine had an article on high MOI putters and tested 8 putters and the Yes! Hanna mallet putter topped the list with an MOI of 5,441, considerably higher than the #2 putter. High MOI mallets tend to limit distance loss on off center hits, controlling misdirection and keeping your putts on path. These putters go for $190 at the Yes! site, to celebrate the PGA Tour victory, my price thru Nov 12 is $139.95.

New Shaft from Graphite Design

Heard it thru the grapevine that Graphite Design has a new shaft coming out in early December called the YS- Q. Will feature the best of the wildly popular YS6 shafts and the super high modulus Japanese TourAD models. Cool new graphics, too. Watch for an announcement here when they're ready to ship.

We recently added the Graphite Design YS-5 to our catalog. Same price as the YS6 at $69 each.
