I hope you've all been enjoying your summer and have been able to get out and get plenty of golf and goof off time in. I've been playing the best golf in my life. I've really improved my driving accuracy and putting. Also lowered my scores by improving my chipping (which improved my putting).

I've tried all of the products that I sell at Clubmaker Online and especially enjoy helping choose the proper shaft to improve your game. Email me and tell me a bit about your game and I'll do my best to get you set up with the proper shaft. John Muir clubmaker online

Wishon Micro Wedges

I finally had a chance to experiment and play with my new Wishon CX Micro wedge/True Temper black chrome combination and it's really helped my game. It's been great out of the sand (hit the flag the first two sand shots with it) but it has really improved my chipping. I used to do more of a punch and run type shot and the high spin of the CX Micro wedge has given me the confidence/distancecontrol to go right at the flag. The ball stops quickly and I have eliminated dreaded bladed shots that scream across the green. I can only sell this head assembled. Price is $90 with the TT Black Chrome S400 taper shaft. It's a beautiful combination with the platinum finish on the CX Micro wedge. (I can sell the TT black chrome shaft as a component if you're interested, price is $20 each) Email me for ordering information

Here are the features from the Wishon web site: - Another innovative TWGT design first to offer maximum spin capability for all golfers - CNC face milling with micro-groove scorelines makes the CX-Micro wedges the ultimate for short game spin control - USGA conforming, CNC machined face milling to increase surface roughness between micro-groove scorelines - USGA conforming, micro-groove scorelines allows more scoreline edges to be in contact with the surface of the ball at impact - Zero bounce heel design to reduce 'bladed' shots when the face is rolled open - Investment cast from soft 304 stainless steel to deliver a forged-feel and allow a wide range of custom loft and lie options - Designed in 52°, 56°, 58° and 60° lofts and available in both brushed satin nickel chrome and platinum nickel plated finish with glass bead blast highlights

Matrix Xcon Shafts

Tried the new Matrix Ozik XCon5 recently. I've read some reviews/test results online that rated this shaft #1 over all shafts for ball speed and #2 lowest spin of all premium shafts. In fact, Matrix took 10 of the top 10 spots for ball speed.

It's a great looking shaft, too. Candy apple red really will hot rod the looks of your driver. Check out the entire Matrix line of shafts at the link below.

Accra AXIV Shafts

I mentioned earlier that I've been driving the ball better that ever. Always had decent distance but was wild off the tee. I've been playing the new AXIV shafts and the improvement in my control off the tee was immediate. Tried the XT60 ($175 installed), XC65 ($250 installed) and finally settled on the XE80 in my Nakashima Htech driver. To be honest, I was hoping the XE80 wouldn't work for me as it's super expensive ($475 installed) but it's the most accurate shaft I've ever hit.

The XC65 was longer and just about as accurate and would probably fit the most golfers with higher swingspeeds (105+). The XT60 has great kick, a bit higher spin vs. the other two models, and would fit the majority of slower to average swingspeed golfers. Check out http://accragolf.com for pics/specs on this excellent shaft line. I'm featuring them in my Nakashima assembled drivers, including the new NX1 cup face driver.

New Nakashima NX1 Driver
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nakashima is known for their premium priced drivers, fairway woods, and irons. They've recently released a fantastic new driver with a price point that is a bit easier on the pocketbook. The new NX1 driver is 460cc, has a cup face design, and a classic pear shape.
I built a demo driver for a friend of mine with the new Chrome Limey UL540 from Graman. It's a great looking/performing combination. Smooth feel from the shaft and nice smooth sound from the Nak head. Price is $299 assembled with the Graman Chrome Limey UL540. You might consider the NX1 with one of the Accra AXIV shafts, too. Email me for a quote.
AJ Shafts has released a new shaft model called the ZUL350 proto. 46-53g, low torque, with a stiff tip and soft butt section. My friend AJ tells me it's designed for golfers with "slower wrist action and that the shaft loads then unleashes at the end". Fits .350 Callaway, Taylormade and Ping drivers. Price is $150 on the ZUL. I've also got a supply of AJ 4000 thermotrons on sale at $125.
Take some time to browse clubmaker online. There's something like 500 pages of golf goodies and knowledge at the site. It can be a little tough to navigate but worth it with golf components from name brands such as Mitsubishi, Matrix, AJ, Harrison, SK Fiber, Accuflex, Penley, Fujikura, Accra, SMT, Ashton, Nakashima, Graman, Aldila, Grafalloy, Alpha, Bang, Star grips, Skins Leather headcovers and much more.
