Grafalloy Epic-First Major Victory
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grafalloy Epic continues to make waves on all Tours including a recent victory at the senior US Open. Getting some good numbers on the Nationwide Tour with 10 in play last week, and they were one round away from a victory a few weeks ago on the PGA Tour. A longtime Clubmaker Report reader built a driver with the Epic and an AJ square head (3 victories this year for KJ with a Nike square driver) and had this report: "I hit my new square biscuit yesterday. I really hit it really well. What I noticed is that marginal swings were not off line, and my few bad swings were not big hooks or slices. I am EXTREMELY happy with my choice of the Epic shaft. I had a great launch angle and great trajectory. The direction was very consistent. The drives were rockets off the face...."
Announced a limited run promotion for a free Epic headcover/free shipping to lower 48 with Epic shaft purchase a week or two ago and of course posted the wrong link to my Epic pages. The link below works. I've got 16 headcovers and I've got 4 Stiff .335's, 6 Regular .335's, 3 X .350's, and 3 Stiff .350's that apply to this promotion.
Aldila Protopype
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aldila had a win at the US Open with it's Protopype model in the winners' driver. Shaft is in S or X flex, (3.5 or 2.8 torque). Price is $125. This is their first nanotube shaft and it features lower ball flight, tight dispersion, and still maintains feel.

FeelTec Grips
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've got some samples coming from an interesting new grip company. Their new S1 model is supposed to have a "new super tacky texture that can maintain its traction and superior feel even when wet."
Here's more of their marketing info: Composite technology - The first breakthrough in polymer grip making. Most people fear that polymer grips may be too spongy, slippery when wet and wear out too quickly, as joint polymer grips such as wrapped, slip-on, or new vertical seamed style, are produced by gluing PU layer on underlisting via felt & adhesive, which makes the grips get twisted easily and creates high torque. We solve these problems via composite technology fusing polymer layer directly on underlisting and creates the unique material. You can twist and bend over our grips and other's, and then you will see which one has bending lines! Seamless Composite grips also forward the true and solid feedback directly to your hands." Send me a quick note if you'd like me to notify you when I have pricing on this new grip line, I'll report back after trying them out.
Next Week's Feature Company-Accuflex
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm planning a nice feature on Accuflex golf shafts. Their motto is "golf shafts to fit every swing" and they make fantastic shafts in a variety of price points. Their premium Creation shaft is popular on tour and their HL Hybrid is getting some serious play.

One of my favorite shaft/clubhead combinations for seniors is the Accuflex IconLite with the SMT 455 Deep bore in a 12 deg loft. The IconIlte is only 46 grams but VERY stable. The 455 Deep Bore has a long tradition on the long drive circuit and can help any player reach their potential.
