 Dear Valued Client:
As we drift into the warmest months of the year here in Dallas (warm being an understatement), we've had quite a few accomplishments around the office that we feel are worthy of a mention: our English courses brought home three Telly Awards; Dallas TeleCollege and DCCCD were named the fifth military-friendly school in the country; the Digital Resource Repository earned Innovation of the Year and is moving on to the next round of judging; DCCCD was featured last week in this news segment; we're in the throes of production for our online Government course (see below for specifics); conference travel is as busy as ever; and our Twitter account is booming with more distance-learning followers.
Be sure to check out our updates for Physical Geology Online and read this month's featured article on how college campuses are changing.

Production has started on TeleLearning's U.S. and Texas Government courses. An interview with Texas District Court Judge John Creuzot kicked off the Texas lesson video modules production last week, and will be followed with six interviews in Austin, Texas, and two more in Dallas.
Video production on the National Government lessons will follow in September. Instructional designer Kay Hampshire has been creating interactive activities for the 30 lessons in the two-semester course. |

Production team wraps up lab videos.
The Geology team completed 13 days of video production this week. Producer Katherine Listi, content specialist Lynn Millwood and instructional designer Janice Christophel wrapped up 40 videos for the geology lab lessons, including step-by-step instructions on identifying minerals and rocks, creating a topo profile and experiments about porosity and permeability.
The lab videos are a key component of the Physical Geology 1403 online course. The programming team has been fine-tuning the interactive mineral and rock identification tool, while adding hundereds of photos. |
