For example, as regards conflict and so on, so much of this is caused by someone wanting power and control over something that someone else has, e.g. food, arms, energy sources etc. But it's possible that we have all the resources we need for everyone if we simply pooled them and shared them out, isn't it? Maybe this solution in our busy world is so simple, nobody's thought of it?
In the same way with our own lives, many of us feel overwhelmed and are overcommitted. We're stressed because we have huge mortgages and need to strive ever more to 'better' ourselves and keep 'moving up the ladder'. But does this make us happy?
So often, we enjoy our successes and the new kitchen, the new car or the new dress, but we soon see something else we want or prefer and move onto the next thing. Not having that can make us feel dissatisfied or unhappy.
Isn't it often the case that it's the simplest things that really make you feel good? Like taking a walk in the park or on the beach, spending time with the kids or with your best mate, or when someone compliments you or does something thoughtful for you? Most of these things don't cost and thing and are available in abundance, but how often do you take advantage of them and enjoy them in your busy life? How often do you make them a priority?
In the end, it's all about balance, but mainly it's also about simplicity. What needs to change in your life today so that you can spend more time doing the things and with the people you love and make you feel good about life? When are you going to do something about it and keep life simple?
As usual, it will be great to hear your feedback, thoughts and ideas on this or any other topic you think you'd like to hear about.
Take care of yourself till the next time.
With love
Annie
