Unique Environmental Opportunity: Volunteer with Anacostia Watershed Society for Nash Run Trash-Trap Clean Up

Saturday, August 25, 9:00am to 12:00pm; Anacostia Avenue & Douglas Street NE: Anacostia Watershed Society (AWS) has been experimenting with a stationary device built to strain the trash from the flowing waters of Nash Run, located adjacent the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Northeast DC. This is an excellent opportunity for approximately 10 interested volunteers to learn about the trash challenges facing the Anacostia and what is being done to address them. Tasks require squatting down for a relatively long time and may be physically demanding. Due to the specific nature of this event and potential for cancellation, registration is required. For more information or to register, visit the AWS online or contact Masaya Maeda via email or (301) 699-6204 ext. 110.
