When clearing out your closets, basements, and
attics this season, please consider your neighbors in
need. There are several families new to the Mt.
Lebanon community who are in need of household
items. If you have any household items
that you could donate, please contact me for details!
The city parks and police departments are
seeking
used bikes appropriate in size for kids 3-15 to
recycle
for disadvantaged kids for Christmas. The bikes can
be taken to either the:
- East Liberty Police Station at Penn Circle & Broad
Streets. They are open 24/7!
- Jerry Kranicks Bike Shop in Garfield - 5003 Penn
Avenue 412-621-6160
The Pittsburgh Food Bank is taking donations
at most Goodwill Stores (not at small drop-
off
centers),
so you can donate food AND household goods in ONE
stop! To donate or to find out more information call
412-460-3663 or go to www.pittsburghfoodbank.org.
Do you have an old computer? Goodwill Stores
(not
small drop-off trailers) will take working computers.
But how much should you deduct for your old PC?
“It’s Deductible”, a Turbo Tax Software
Program, will
tell you the value of your computer or any other item
that you would like to donate at its current value for
tax deduction purposes. For instance, a Dell
Dimension 2100 Desktop computer is worth $139 in
good condition. A user-friendly workbook is also
available at most online bookstores.

The Holiday Season is here! For those of
you with children, you may be
bracing yourself for the onslaught of toys and gifts
from well-
intending family members! What can you do
(besides lock the door)?
Express your wishes for family and friends to
give
consumable gifts to your children this year,
like:
- movie passes
- recreational gift cards (i.e. Carnegie Science
Center)
- computer games
- video games
- music CD's
These make wonderful (and small!) gifts that
kids love and will use. Gift cards to favorite
restaurants like Applebee’s and Eat n’ Park make
great family gifts too!
Encourage your relatives to give the gift of
time! It
will mean more to your child to get a day of fishing
with his or her grandfather, or a day at the
Pittsburgh Zoo with Aunt Sue, than a toy that will
soon become a distant memory.

Schedule time with your favorite person - YOU!
We honor all kinds of appointments every day, like
taking the dog to the vet, kids to get their flu shot,
meetings at work, lunch appointments with friends-
but what about YOU? Maybe your “To Do” list is too
long because you are not scheduling time to take
care of tasks that will, once completed, give you
peace of mind. In your calendar or PDA, make sure
you schedule your tasks as real
appointments. Keep
the appointment as you would with a friend or boss
to complete your task for you.
ACT (don’t REACT) on incoming information.
Schedule regular intervals in your day to check voice
mail, incoming paper mail, and email.

Hang up the phone on your email!
Typically you hang
up when you end a phone call, right?
You can be DONE with that email just as quickly by
making the decision to delete the message, delegate
the action, or act upon it right away.
If you don’t have the time to deal with email that
comes in, don’t open it!

New Organizing Services! |

Residential Sorting Service – Assistant
Organizers
can now
come to
your home or office to conduct a pre-sort prior to
delving into the organizing process. This service is
an affordable way of getting everything in separate
groups for you to make decisions about. Once you
see the multiple items you DO have (e.g. toasters), it
is easier to say good-bye to them. Let's get that car
into the garage this winter!
For Small Business -
Expanded HR Consulting – We now have added
even more
