The College of Staten Island (CSI) is featured in a major new report that highlights the College's success in retaining and graduating students. CSI is highlighted as one of 15 public colleges and universities across the nation that are outperforming most similar institutions in helping students stay on track and graduate, in this major new report.
The report, Promoting a Culture of Student Success: How Colleges and Universities Can Improve Degree Completion, focuses on colleges whose success in raising degree completion are models of practices and strategies that work. The report is presented by the nonprofit Southern Regional Education Board.

ALPHA Club Hosts Red Cross Presentation on Haiti, Presents Contribution to Relief Effort
[Left to Right] Christopher Cruz Cullari, Debi Kee, Marybeth Melendez, Denise Bloise, Kelyn Potes  | | Last week, ALPHA Club members, as well as representatives of the CSI Office of Disability Services and Office of Student Life, hosted a presentation by Denise Bloise, Director of the Brooklyn and Staten Island Chapter of the American Red Cross, not only to present Ms. Bloise with over $1,000 that students had collected for Haitian relief, but also to discuss the current Red Cross efforts in Haiti, and encourage CSI students to get involved to help others in need.

CSI student Ain Richardson recently received a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship to study in China.  | |
Recently, International Business student, Ain Richardson, was bestowed some recognition and encouragement in pursuing her studies. Ms. Richardson was awarded a travel grant through the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program to study in China during the Spring 2010 term.
