Women Peace Officers Discuss the Paths to Their Careers

In celebration of Women's History Month, three CSI Peace Officers shared their stories of what it is like to be women on the force, and the factors that led them to the profession. Officers Laura Devine and Barbara Brancaccio and Corporal Genevieve Clark spoke in front of a full house in the Library Theatre yesterday, telling the audience of women and men about their lives and how much they enjoy a career that gives them the chance to serve the campus community. Paul Murtha, Director of the Office of Public Safety, served as the event's emcee.

CSI Grad Selected for Nobel Meeting in Germany

Leah Cohen, a doctoral student at CSI/The CUNY Graduate Center studying Biochemistry under distinguished Professor of Chemistry Dr. Fred Naider has been selected to participate in the 60th Interdisciplinary Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany from June 27 to July 2, 2010. She is one of 500 students selected from an initial pool of approximately 20,000 applicants, and the first-ever CUNY student to receive such an honor.

Online Resources for Grad School Applicants Now Available to CSI Students
All CSI students now have access to online resources to help them prepare for graduate school exams.

The College of Staten Island has partnered with Hispanic Educational Technology Services (HETS), giving all CSI students access to various online resources that can help them prepare for various graduate entrance exams, including the MCAT, LSAT, DAT, GRE, and GMAT. Students can also research graduate programs and related opportunities.

CSI Receives National Recognition for Community Service, Named to President's Honor Roll
Student community service has, once again, earned the College a place on the President's Honor Roll.
 | The College of Staten Island has been named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. This is the second year in a row that the College has received this honor.
