Greetings~
I wish someone, somewhere, sometime when I was growing up, would have told me what expectations would get me. Our parents, schools, friends . . . everyone tells us things will be a certain way when we're adults and if they're not that way, we should make them be; or at least pretend. It's like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole over and over again. And at a certain point, those expectations create disappointment and sadness and stop us from being in the now. At a certain point, we realize (sometimes several times in my case), that we can't MAKE something happen.
Life doesn't work that way.
We have to flow with the tide, do our part, and then . . . yes, that's right . . . surrender . . . surrender to the natural order and flow, because deep down you know there is one. And deep down, you know on some level, what the right choice is and when it's time to let go and let the current move you.
Sometimes it's what happens in place of what you expected that becomes the most thrilling ride of all. That's when life gets so juicy. Because we grow, learn, change, and have a deeper understanding of life. And in hind-insight we can usually see why something did or didn't happen.
So rather than getting sucked back into what becomes an endless cycle of hope and disappointment, what if you could, even for a moment, let go of expectations of yourself, of your life, of your day, and settle in to what is right now: the body sitting, the breath engaged and present, and the spirit a little more spacious. Try it -- wherever you are -- feel your body on the chair, take a deep inhale and just feel . . . feel the aliveness of you, the aliveness of Spirit that guides you from a deeper knowing. Follow that place.
Namaste,
Anisha

Pan Gu Yoga and Qi Gong Classes
| Pan Gu Yoga blends of the essence of yoga with the deep principles of Pan Gu Mystical Qi Gong. In unique ways, each path helps practitioners to discover the relationship between man, nature, and the universe, to be in union with Grace, and to share Compassion and Kindness with others.
Anisha and Paul take their teaching of these profound practices on the road in August, when they will conduct a full weekend workshop of Pan Gu Yoga and Qi Gong in Gainesville, Florida. They will also be offering a Moving Form Workshop in Raleigh. Read all the details below!
Anisha and Paul created and nurtured this awesome sacred environment the whole time during our workshop. My heart just opened up in that safe space. I felt as though I was tilling the soil of my heart ever so gently. So many things came up for me, and I was able to work through them with the loving, energetic support of the group. Together we had created a safe loving space where we bonded beautifully. ~ Ameetta D.

Fire Element heats up in summer
|
Each of the five elements in acupuncture has a distinct energy and controls certain areas of our emotions and our bodies. The fire element is associated with summer, a season of heat and often happy, more carefree events and emotions. The openness it fosters also can increase our ability to feel and express joy, the emotion associated with the fire element. But fire, like all elements, needs to be kept in perspective. Too much fire can lead to destructive pursuits to sustain the "high" of the fire. You can keep excessive fire in balance by eating cooling foods, like mint, cucumber, pear, banana, strawberry, yogurt, lettuce, and zucchini, and using spices such as marjoram and turmeric. Engage in cooling activities, like massage, swimming, and staying indoors during the heat of the day. |
