The Chancery of the Diocese of Baton Rouge has announced the following appointments, each effective on July 1, 2012, for a six-year term:
Father Matthew P. Lorrain, 52, as pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Brusly, where he succeeds Father Matthew C. Dupré, the new diocesan Vocations Director. Father Lorrain has been the Vocations Director for the past seven years. Father Jamin S. David, 29, as pastor of St. Margaret Queen of Scotland Parish in Albany. There he succeeds Father Joseph "Suresh" Arogyasami, I.M.S., who has been reassigned back to his native India by his religious superior. This is Father David's first pastorate; for the past year he has served as parochial vicar of St. Aloysius Parish in Baton Rouge. Father Paul A. Gros, 30, as pastor of both St. Anne Parish in Napoléonville and Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Plattenville. In this, his first pastorate, he follows Father Joel LaBauve, who is retiring. Father Gros has been serving as parochial vicar along the river road in the Parishes of St. Michael the Archangel in Convent, St. Joseph in Paulina, and Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Gramercy for the past year. Father Andrew J. Merrick, 31, as pastor of both St. Jules Parish in Belle Rose and St. Elizabeth Parish in Paincourtville. Father Merrick, former parochial vicar at St. Thomas More Parish in Baton Rouge, has been administrator of these two parishes since the late summer of 2011. It has also been announced that Father Matthew Dupré, 41, upon his taking office as diocesan Vocations Director, will be in residence at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Baton Rouge.

Caring Bridge for Peggy LeBlanc
For over 20 years Mrs. Peggy LeBlanc served in youth ministry at the Diocese of Baton Rouge. She currently works as the DRE at St. John the Baptist in Brusly, LA. Many of you are blessed to know her.
I would like to ask each of you to pray for Peggy, her family, and all the medical staff who are taking care of her. She very much appreciates all the prayer, love, and support you can give her! Even now, she is thinking of everyone else over herself. Thank you for your prayerful support.
If you would like to receive updates about Peggy, please feel free to join her Caring Bridge Page here.
