CAROL HELOU
CI and CT and B.A. (Interpreting/Chemical Dependency Counseling) is a 30+ year community interpreter, now working in post-secondary, VRS/VRI and job development (for DeafBlind persons).
DeafBlind people must have access to all aspects of American life; Carol is known to have extensive knowledge and experience working with DeafBlind to assist in making that happen. Carol interprets, consults, volunteers, and advocates for communication, employment and accessibility. One way to give confidence to our DeafBlind consumers is to advocate for enthusiastic, knowledgeable, trained and consistent qualified interpreters with a DeafBlind heart. Carol encourages, mentors, teaches and evaluates new and seasoned interpreters who are interested in "lending a hand" to the DeafBlind community.
