Dell's Desk - Dell Sanders, General Manager
By this time of year the weather in North Florida usually has turned cooler. Not so this year. Oh, we had a few days in September that were a pleasant tease, but ...will the REAL autumn weather arrive soon? I sure hope so.
By the time you read this I will be in Las Vegas attending the annual RVDA convention. While outdoor temperatures there are expected to be in the high 90s, I'll spend most of my time indoors. Maybe the days will cool off at home by the time I get back.
Speaking of travel ... many RVers are starting to make plans to head into the mid-Atlantic states or even New England to enjoy the fall foliage. If you are among those pilgrims, please send us your travel photos. We may show them right here.
Others like Sharon and Gary Swimmers are in the great Northwest and will be headed back to Florida soon. Among the sites they've seen in Oregon are a pear orchard and beautiful water falls. See the photos below.

This month I want to demonstrate an easy way to find wall studs on a recreational vehicle with fiberglass walls and aluminum framing.
The trick is to look at the sidewalls on a cool morning. You will notice the dew doesn't collect where framing is located.
I have taken photos of various coaches on the yard to show what to look for. This can come in handy when adding accessories to the sidewall of your RV such as an exterior TV bracket (needing to secure to a frame) or a light (routing wiring through the wall.) |
Parts Desk - David Sanders, Parts Manager
A few days ago a customer asked me what was my best resource for RV parts and accessories. The answer was simple, obvious and came to me immediately: my brother Hal.
Hal Sanders runs the Parts Counter in the store. Hal is responsible for inventory management. He orders items to stock our shelves, checks items in when they arrive and puts them out on the floor. He also accommodates special orders for customers and the Service Department.
In addition, he manages replacement parts ordering for all insurance related jobs that come in to the shop.
Beyond that, Hal stands at the Parts Counter assisting customers all day long. He is a cornucopia of RV parts knowledge. On the rare occasion that Hal can't answer you off the top of his head, he dives into one of many vendor catalogs or otherwise researches for an answer.
On a typical day you'll find Hal thumbing through our parts catalogs. He's doing just that - standing next to me in the picture below.
