Just about everywhere you turn these days you see someone looking down at an IPhone or other smart phone; even among RVers. So it's no wonder then that RV related apps are becoming more popular. Our own Web Guru is a case in point. Lew and his wife are avid RVers who have traveled from Maine to the Mojave and embrace new technology.
In addition to his trusty laptop computer, Lew now travels with his IPod, iPad2 and 4G-LTE MiFi. Both the iPod and MiFi fit comfortably in a shirt or pants pocket. The iPad, well, not so much. The MiFi provides high speed internet access just about everywhere for his laptop and his and her IPods and iPad. This device comes in handy when a campground doesn't offer Wi-Fi at each campsite. Even more interesting are the FREE apps he and his wife use while RVing. Here are some of his favorites ...

- RV Park Finder - from Good Sam - find an RV park where ever you travel.
- Passport America - find Passport America Parks along your travel route.
- Oh Ranger! Parkfinder,- this app finds RV parks and recreation areas throughout the U.S.
- Rest Area Finder - from Guidebook Galactic - Find rest stops up to 500 miles from your location.
- Truck Stops - Finds truck stops for you diesel drivers.
- Museum Finder -finds all kinds of museums around your location.
- Fishing Spots - No matter where you take the RV, if you packed a rod and reel this app will find water.
So, if your phone is "smart" or you carry an IPod, look for these FREE apps at the iTunes or Droid stores. My, how things are changing! |

This month I just want to remind you of all the services we provide. We do just about everything for your coach. If you have damage to your RV exterior, we can fix that. If your water heater isn't, we can fix that. If your furnace won't heat, we can fix that. If your air conditioner won't cool, we can fix that too. If your onboard refrigerator stops cooling, call us. We can fix or replace it.

Want to get hooked up? I mean...do you want to get hitched? Now, don't get all lathered up. I'm referring to your RV and tow vehicle.
Please consider that J.D. Sanders RV Center is your Hitch Headquarters! We carry and install the tried and true hitch brands for your RV. For your motorhome you can rely on Husky, Roadmaster and Blue Ox products to connect your tow car.
For your fifth wheel trailer we sell and install Pullrite hitches, including the #2700 SuperGlide. On the highway, the SuperGlide hitch stays in the forward position keeping the trailer weight over the rear axle.
As you begin to turn, going forward or reverse, the SuperGlide cam arm automatically moves the hitch and trailer away from the cab. The more you turn, the more the trailer moves away.
The SuperGlide can move back far enough to allow a full turn. You never have to anticipate, never get out of your truck, never throw any switches or levers. It's automatic. you just drive. |
