As I write this, oil has dropped to $92 a barrel and the President has let loose with part of our strategic oil reserve. So, what does this mean to RVers? Well, in reality, it depends upon where oil prices are tomorrow, next week and next month. But, it is my hope that we will see some measurable relief at both the gas and diesel pumps.
I would like to think that lower prices at the pump will result in more RVers hitting the road this summer; even if the distances are shorter and the campsite stays are longer.
The 4th of July is our most important national holiday. Although most Americans today think of it as a day of celebration and fireworks, I encourage all of you to reflect on what this date really represents: the writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence; a now timeless document that resulted in the Revolutionary War.
Those who signed the Declaration were placing themselves in mortal danger from the appointed Governors of the 13 Colonies and the Brittish Crown.
I wonder how many (if any) of today's American "leaders" would be willing to place themselves in harm's way today as our founding Fathers did then?
If you're hitting the road over the July 4th holiday, drive safely and enjoy your trip. Gainesville has cancelled their Independence Day fireworks display due to an extremely dry Spring. However, with the recent rains, the burn ban in Alachua county has been lifted.

When an RV device or appliance stops working, the first places to check are the circuit breaker and fuse panel boxes. It's easy to see whether a circuit breaker has tripped. If the breaker switch isn't fully at the "on" position then an over current situation has caused it to trip. This may occur when too many appliances are operating on the same circuit at the same time.
A fuse offers similar protection. Unlike the circuit breaker, a fuse - which is a metal strip inside a non-conductive material - must be replaced when it "blows."

|
|
The fuse on the left has detected too much current (heat), has melted and separated. This cuts power to whatever is operating on this circuit. The fuse on the right is new and intact.
You should learn where all the fuse panels are in you RV, auto and home. Then when something electrical goes wrong, you can check to see if it is a fuse. |

If you're towing a travel trailer or fifth wheel trailer you know the importance of your truck or car side mirrors. You also know that factory supplied stock side mirrors may not provide enough side to rear visability. That's why we stock custom towing mirrors that are mounted over your stock mirrors.
Vent covers break. Sometimes a limb falls and cracks the lid. Sometimes it is driver error. Anyway, we stock several sizes and brands for your convenience.

Starting at: $35.95 each
Replacement Vent Covers

- Different sizes in stock
