Dream Big Read This Summer at your Library!

NWRL

Your children are invited to join the Northwest Regional  Library's Summer Reading Program and attend the fun programs and events we are planning. This summer's theme, "Dream Big-Read!", is about all things nocturnal-dreams, stars and planets, bats, owls, spooky stories, and more. The Summer Reading Program and all activities are free and open to young people of all ages and abilities.

The public library cares about your children and has planned programs to keep children of all ages reading and learning this summer with programs, prize drawings, story hours, and more.

Children who join the summer library program keep their brains active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed.

And remember, you are your child's first teacher. Read to your children and ask them to read to you! We hope that you and your family enjoy looking at books and reading together and that you discover the treasures of the library.

For more information about the summer reading program and events happening in your community contact your local library!

Encore: A New Way to Search the Library Catalog

 NWRL

If you have recently searched our library catalog you may have noticed a new additional search box. This is our new library search engine, called Encore.

Encore is easier to use then our previous search engine. It has a simple, easy-to-use design, which makes finding information a snap. You will notice that using it is a lot like using Google or searching in Amazon. Encore features a "Did you mean" feature similar to Google and Amazon, that is helpful for those time you misspell a title or author name.

Encore features Web 2.0 features, such as tag clouds, that help focus your search by format, collection, subject heading and lots of other ways.

Great, detailed information is now just a click away, with quick preselected links to the library's electronic and web-based resources.

Next time you visit our catalog try the Encore search engine and see for yourself all the great features this search engine has to offer.
