Electric Library Minnesota (ELM)

NWRL

This week I woul
d like to bring your attention to a under utilized feature that the libraries have available to our patrons. This feature is the ELM database. ELM stands for Electronic Library Minnesota.

ELM is a wonderful one stop shop of databases. This is a great place to start if you are looking for information on any topic. For example if you are looking for information on Diabetes, this would be a great resource to begin your search to find up-to-date, reliable information in one stop.

To begin, go to our website: http://nwrlib.org/

Click on or hover over "Research" in the top menu,

scroll down and click on "ELM."

This will bring you to the "ELM" homepage.

Here you will have the option of searching by:

topic

content type

grade level

databases A-Z

 publications A-Z

To search for diabetes, begin by clicking on "topic."
Scroll down to "health and medicine" to go to databases to search for articles and information on Diabetes.

So, next time you have a topic of interest you need timely information on, check out the ELM database, free for all of our patrons.
