Happening This Week

Bring the kids into the Greenbush Public Library for a pre-school party on Tuesday, February 7, at 10:30 a.m.! Author Chad Lewis will be in the library Thursday, February 9, at 6:00 p.m. Come and learn all about Haunted Minnesota!  

 

In the Hallock Library this week come in for story time on Tuesday, February 7, at 11:00 a.m. for a Treasure Hunt! On Thursday, February 9, bring in the family for Family Movie Night at 6:00 p.m. 

 

This week at the Red Lake Falls Library  bring the family in for Family Movie Night on Wednesday, February 8, at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, February 10, bring the kids in for story time at 10:30 a.m. Come back with the whole family at 6:00 p.m. to see the Sloughgrass Family Band! 

 

Bring the kids to the Roseau Library on Tuesday, February 7, at 10:30 a.m. We will be doing a special Valentines Day craft! Bring the family in on Wednesday, February 8, at 5:00 to hear Author Chad Lewis talk about Haunted Minnesota!  

 

Teens are invited to the Thief River Falls Library on Tuesday, February 7, at 3:30 p.m. to make a Valentine's Day project perfect to give to someone special: chocolate sweetheart roses. Also on Tuesday, our FRED program kicks off! Participants will meet at Challenger Elementary School at 6:00, then take the bus to the library for stories, games and fun, fun, fun! Please pre-register by February 3, by calling Challenger Preschool 681-8670. FRED (Fathers Reading Every Day) is a reading program for dads, grandpas, uncles, and any adult man and the children in their life (ages 2-Kindergarten). Story Time on Thursday, February 9, at 6:45 p.m. will have a Valentine's Day theme, come for a story and a craft!
 
Bring your toddler to the Warren Godel Library for Toddler Time on Tuesday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. to enjoy some age appropriate board games. We have all time favorites such as Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land, Don't Break the Ice and Memory games. A snack and juice will be provided for all participants. All Elementary Book Club participants please stop in to pick up Chapters 1 through 9 activity sheets for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We hope to finish the book by the end of February to schedule our movie night. During the month of February, The Mystery Book Club will be covering Lisa Scottoline's Final Appeal and the Classic Book Club will review The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. If you are interested in either of this groups, please stop in or call the library to reserve your copy. If you are 24 and older and would be interested in a club that covers everything from romance to sci-fi to the latest diet trends; call or stop by the library. Several young ladies have shown an interest and will take names to get things rolling. The number for the library is 218-745-5465. 

 

February is the annual "Warm Wraps for Cool Evenings" quilt show at the Warroad Library. Come in and see this fabulous display of amazing quilts. February is also the time for the "Hot Reads for Cold Nights" adult reading program. For every book you read, register to win a mug with a cocoa packet!

Join Author Chad Lewis as he presents Minnesota's Most Haunted Locations.

 

This presentation takes the audience on a ghostly journey to some of the most haunted places in Minnesota. It covers the entire state, from Wandering Ghosts in the North Woods to the Haunted B&B in Wabasha. From Phantom creatures prowling the woods to graveyard apparitions located in your own backyard, no place in MN is without its own haunting. Complete with photos, case history, eyewitness accounts, ghost lore, and directions, this unique presentaion encourages you to visit these places for your own ghost story.

Sloughgrass Family Band      

Red Lake Falls Library
Come experience the Sloughgrass Family Band.

They bring a blend of Bluegrass, Old-time, Scandinavian, Gospel, Country and Folk music-what they call "mosquito moving music."

Their show is sure to be a hit with the whole family!

Musicians welcome to join in a jam session.
