Traveling to Russia

Red Lake Falls Library

Lisa Delorme provided Stories from Russia for the Summer Reading Program event this week at Red Lake Falls.   A group of children in costume acted out the classic Russian folktale "The Turnip," and Lisa read the story in Russian.

About 25 children & their parents enjoyed seeing her Russian articles including shawls & other clothing, handcrafted needlework and family photographs. They also tried out writing their names in Russian script, decorated coloring pages of Russian images, and planted turnip seeds.

Many thanks to Lisa and her little troupe of actors for a fun afternoon event!

Old Time Story Time

Pioneer Village, Thief River Falls

On Tuesday, June 28, at 9:30 a.m., the Thief River Falls Library once again hosted 'Old Time Story Time' at Pioneer Village. This year's theme was "All Aboard!" Eighty-five people enjoyed the beautiful weather,  train-themed stories and train crafts. The most popular craft was decorating wooden train whistles!

Pioneer Village served ice cream cones following the stories  and everyone was encouraged to wander around and look through all the wonderful exhibits.

All in all, great fun was had by all and plans are in the works for next year's 'Old Time Story Time!'
