Stomp the Monster in Action!
- Jen is a young woman who should be worried about career, family and fun, but is instead fighting breast cancer. Stomp the Monster is helping Jen keep healthy food on her table and in her pantry. One less thing to worry about at a stressful time.
- Craig is a husband and father of two young children who was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Stomp the Monster is helping Craig and his family cope by providing gift cards for gas and groceries so he can focus on fighting to be there for his family.
- Two year old Wyatt from Branchburg is the youngest Stompee yet - he's fighting stage 3 liver cancer when he should be terrorizing his parents with inflexible demands and getting into every drawer in the house. Wyatt's parents were managing OK with day to day needs of food and gas, but were struggling with bigger, longer-term needs like utility bills, medical bills, and home maintenance. Stomp the Monster stepped up to help with paying bills and a Home DepotŪ gift card.
- Alvester of Camden was simply overwhelmed with his cancer diagnosis. He could not afford the medications he needed and had no good way to get to his treatments. Stomp the Monster stepped in to arrange both taxi trips to and from appointments and financial assistance for his medication needs.
- Sadly, sometimes the best that Stomp the Monster can do is help out a family in the final days - that was the case with Dawn. Under hospice care when her family reached out, Stomp the Monster helped with meals for Dawn and her family so they could focus more on their remaining time together.
- Maryann normally cares for others as an LPN, and has worked two jobs most of her adult life. But, her fight with pancreatic cancer forced her into disability status, and she was struggling with the payments to keep her health insurance current. Stomp the Monster is helping with Medigap payments to keep her treatments going.
- Tina is a wife and mother of three children living in Cherry Hill, who is fighting leukemia. Stomp the Monster worked with the Barclay Farms Swim Club on a fundraiser, and proceeds from that event are paying for food, gas and other needs of Tina's family.
- Sheron is a young woman - just 22 - living on her own with no family support, who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Stomp the Monster has assisted Sheron and stepped in with two months' rent; work is in progress to get her gas and electric bills waived.
How do STOMP the Monster™ volunteers decide who, when, and how to help? Anyone affected by cancer and in need of assistance is encouraged to submit an Application For Support (which can be found at stompthemonster.org on the "Contact Us" page).
STOMP the Monster™ volunteers are looking forward to helping those affected by cancer when they need it most!
