Stomp the Monster™ Team In Action

Stomp the Monster folks have been hard at work - recent "stomps" include an iPod Touch for a 4 1/2 year old cancer patient from Morganville, fighting Ewing's Sarcomoa, so he could keep in touch while in isolation during chemo. Another stomp helped a family keep the heat on.  STM provided a little help paying some large heating bills that were just too much for the struggling family, and also negotiated with the utility company to get a manageable payment plan. Then, another charity pitched in with an additional grant to help with payments. There are two other stomps that just happened - look for information on those in the next newsletter!

Stomp the Monster is not just about charity - it's about squeezing out the biggest impact with the funds raised, being an advocate, and building teams.

Sponsorship Update
Be sure to patronize and thank our Sponsors shown below.  Also, thanks to A&P (Old Bridge), Basgel World (Marlboro), Dunkin Donuts (Oldbridge), Starbucks (Englishtown), and Wegmans (Manalapan) - folks helping out with race-day goodies.

Stomp the Monster would not be possible without help.  Thanks to all our sponsors!

Seth Update

Seth

The GVD chemo regimen that Seth started in March seems to be working well.  After two rounds, with two chemo treatments in each round, a PET scan showed good progress.  Both tumors were reduced in size and metabolic activity significantly, one tumor showing no elevated metabolic activity.

As a result, Seth has been green-lighted for a very aggressive treatment that includes a hematopoietic (blood forming) stem cell transplant procedure.  This is actually happening as you read this. Some preliminary work is complete, and stem cell harvesting (for return later) is scheduled to begin this week, with high-dose chemo starting next week.

This is crunch time for Seth, as this is a complex, long procedure - with strong prospects of eliminating the cancer in a way that limits chances for another relapse.  Seth and family were floored by, and grateful for, the enthusiasm and teamwork shown by his oncologist and the stem cell team when they met, and are looking forward to beating this monster into the ground!

Go Seth Go - Stomp Stomp Stomp!

Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,

--The Stomp the Monster™ Team
