Fall is once again in the air. Ferrum College is enjoying the first cool, crisp days that always come with the resumption of classes, and with the fall term come more wonderful Ferrum traditions. Be sure to mark your calendars for Family Day on September 29. Then, Homecoming tees off on Friday, October 12 with the Corron Classic Golf Tournament, and the women's softball team takes on the alumni, while the football team hosts North Carolina Wesleyan. Western Virginia Roy Stanley Education Classic Held at Ferrum College
Ferrum College hosted Emory & Henry College for the game on September 1. Although the Ferrum Panthers lost the game the winner remained the Total Actions Against Poverty (TAP) program aimed at getting high school dopouts back in school. View photos from the game �

Watch Our New Videos on the Stop Hunger Now Event & the Freshman Scholars
On Sunday, September 2, students and community members learned the meaning of the College's motto "Not Self, But Others" by working together to package 108,000 meals for the hungry in a campus Stop Hunger Now Event.
Ferrum College debuted a new opportunity during the summer of 2012 called the Freshman Scholars program. A select group of incoming freshmen were chosen to participate in exciting research opportunities working one on one with the College's professors over a two week period.
Ferrum College Unveils New Scanning Electron Microscope
The new microscope brings Ferrum's School of Natural Sciences and Math to the forefront of education and research. In addition to the microscope, other technology purchases enable Ferrum students, under faculty supervision, to access to state-of-the-art technologies related to their fields of study. Read more �
