Delgado's 2010 World Series Champions To Be Unveiled

Armando Delgado, "the man behind the brush" is known as one of the world's most celebrated sports artists. With strokes of his brush Delgado's portraits of the sports world are legendary and his status is recognized across continents.

Armando has memorialized 10 portraits from the 2010 World Series and he is going to unveil them here at the gallery on April 8th and 9th.  The originals as well as limited edition prints will be available.

His prints and originals are universally sought after, and remain in prominent collections throughout the world.

Dimaggio

His ability is boundless as his previous endeavors also include designing backsets for national television shows to creating award winning parade floats. His choices of medium are varied and range from paintings to sculptures and murals.  He has been commissioned by famous sport figures including Michael Jordan, Joe DiMaggio, Joe Montana, and George Foreman as well as by almost every national sporting franchise and the United States Postal Service.

His work has been featured in books and countless magazines which include "The Robb Report", "Thoroughbred Style", "The Basics of Buying Art", and a cover story of "WEST Magazine".

Foreman
Delgado and Foreman

The Robb Report singled out Armando and his work in an article on the best investments in sport art. His work can be found in many prominent sports collections such as those owned by NFL coach and television analyst John Madden, baseball legend Joe DiMaggio, President Ronald Reagan and actor Gene Hackman, just to name a few.

Throughout the years, Delgado has had the pleasure of capturing the San Francisco's Giant's from past to current heroes, but he has also had the great honor of meeting many of the players in person. He has worked directly with the Giants organization and it's Community Foundation since the days of Candlestick. He was selected to illustrate the "Ten Greatest Giant Moments at Candlestick" which  featured some of baseball's greatest legends from Mays, Clark, McCovey and Dravecky to name a few.  Now he has captured 10 of the pivotal moments of the Giant's heroic efforts that captured the 2010 World Series.  The unveiling will be here at Mountainsong Galleries on:

 Craig Dietrich - Marine Photography

Dietrich served in the Navy as a photographer.  Craig explains, "I had the opportunity to hang from helicopters to take aerial photographs of my battle group and to serve as personal photographer for such notables as General Norman Schwarzkopf and newsman Dan Rather when they were on board my aircraft carrier.

After the Navy, I knew I wanted to continue in photography and began working as a portrait photographer.  During this period I also learned to scuba dive and it was as if a whole other world was opened up to me.  I loved the peace and tranquility the underwater world afforded me and wanted to share the experience with others so much I became a scuba instructor.  For those not quite brave enough to dive, I am able to share that world through my underwater photography."

Craig has recently relocated to the peninsula so he can capture our amazing underwater world.

A fine looking gentleman walked in one morning just as we were opening.  He was looking for corporate gifts that were representative of the area.  He preferred paintings over photographs.  He wanted the original plus 44 prints - signed, boxed, gift wrapped and shipped.  Could we do this at the price he needed?  Absolutely!  We make it happen.

He relaxed and enjoyed golfing for the next two days and we took care of all the details.  Everything went out signed, boxed, gift wrapped on time and on budget.

We actually have many artistic pieces that make  memorable corporate gifts.  If you ever need a corporate gift, just call us and we will make it happen.

 Always Be Nice

One time when Mom was looking for a home to buy (this was before she met Dad), she came across a real estate agent that she did not care for.  He was showing her an "off the grid" house.  She knew quite a bit about being off grid and had some questions.  He was rude and told her that a woman wouldn't understand.  I could see Mom was seething inside.  My sister who was a German Shepherd tried to bite him right after he said that dogs really love him.  She missed.  I saw Mom snicker.  Then he came up to me and I welcomed him with a gentle smile and a loving wag.  Mom looked at me and I told her that you don't change 'mean, rude' people by returning the same to them.  You change it by offering kindness.  Especially when it is not deserved.  She agreed (perhaps a bit begrudgingly though).

Step Stools Are Cool

I can wash my hands all by myself with my step stool.  I like to wash my hands a lot.  My Mom thinks that I'm just playing in the water... but it's so much fun!  I also like to run the water and then turn it off so I can hear the drain "gurgle".  But the most fun is when  I turn the faucet so the water spills all over the sink and then on the floor!  Mom is not a big fan of this : (
