Awards Won Debra has won many awards for her work. She won 1st place in the Plein Air Artists Colorado Juried Exhibition (this painting has sold). She also received an Honorable Mention in the Salon International in 2009, a Juried Exhibition of oil paintings, for Laguna Cliffs. This is a very large competition and this is a prestigious award. (Laguna Cliffs is still available.) Laguna Cliffs is my personal favorite. She also won an Honorary Mention in Carmel's Art Festival (this painting has sold as well). American Art Collector (a national art magazine) has written about Groesser in six issues. Emotional Technique

Deb connects with the spirit of the landscape and almost becomes a part of it while she paints. This relationship she creates with the landscape enables her to compose brilliant works of art. Each brushstroke is so inspired that the process seems effortless. Her paintings have depth and soul in a gentle, warm way. People tend to fall in love with her paintings because of the way her work makes them feel.

| | Chili Pepper Fused Glass |
Jane Domke
Domke's fused glass also has a distinct foundation in textile art. With roots in the quilts of her immigrant grandmother, she has added a more recent passion for African textiles, especially kente cloth from Ghana. Most projects begin with cutting, smashing, painting and gluing different glasses together and then firing them in the kiln. The resultant 'fabrics' vary; some are patterned, some striped, some textured and some have brilliant colors or iridescence. These swatches are then cut and assembled with other pieces until a harmonious composite is created. No two pieces are alike!

Windswept Bowl $400-

Steph Harper
Harper has formidable glass-cutting skills which serve her well as she focuses on warm or kiln-formed glass. Looking at her fused glass pieces reveals complex cutouts and masterful compilations that are achieved only through meticulous cutwork and attention to detail. Her pieces are fired at least twice in kilns reaching temperatures of 1200-1600 degrees Fahrenheit. Larger and more complex pieces sometimes enter the kiln eight or ten times before they've met her exacting standards. Harper also makes wonderful use of her coldworking skills to create pieces that take on an almost ethereal quality with matte finishes and textures that seem to defy the very medium with which they're made. This piece was on display at The Triton Museum before we received it. This is one of Jonathan's favorites. It is prominently displayed in our front window. |

Sale Of The Month
This is where we feature a particularly exciting sale.
Crowd Shot at The Monterey Pop in 1967
| | Click On Image |
A couple came in one evening and noticed our Monterey Pop pieces. The husband went to the Monterey Pop in 1967. He was telling his wife, I remember this and then... he found himself in the crowd. In the shot we had, only half of his head was showing. He, of course, wanted the whole head. So we got in touch with Tom O'Neal and sure enough there was more on the negative. Tom went to the dark room and made a print for our new friend. He and his wife picked it up and had a wonderful time looking at him and his friends. |

Mr. Bo Jangles' Column™
(This is the best part)
My dog bowl business is already a huge success! I told you they were the cutest bowls you've ever seen. I have already sold out of several different kinds and have had to reorder.
I am now trying to be the most successful business "dog" in Carmel. Please come in and look at my bowls. You will love them. I have insisted that they are very reasonably priced. (The cute little cat bowls with paws are only $10- but please don't tell any of the "guys" about the cat thing!) |
