2.  60' Wave at Pebble Beach -

The Story

Bart Keagy

Ghost Tree     March 9, 2005     12:35 P.M.

This is a shot taken with a Nikon D70 with a 180 millimeter lens.  This was taken on Pescadero Point off Pebble Beach by the 18th hole.  This was the last shot on my 256 meg card.

Surfer Magazine used this shot for the cover of their June 2005 issue.  This was the first time they used a digital image on their cover.  This shot was nominated for Picture of The Year and was a runner up.  This shot has appeared in the New York Times, La Chor and Maxum.

The surfer is Don Curry, a personal trainer.  He was runner up in the Billabong XXL which is a competition that awards surfers for riding the largest waves in the world.  Ed Guzman towed Don into this wave and used his jet ski to propel Don into the massive wave estimated at 60 feet.  Today, jet skis are outlawed at Ghost Tree so now it is just that...a ghost.

We will include this story printed on photo paper with each purchase.

The Colvin Family Portrait!

A lovely lady wanted to surprise her husband with a family portrait for Christmas.... but she didn't have any photos.  Since they are from the Bay area, we arranged to have our portrait artist, LeAnna Tuff, do a photo shoot.  (Something that we offer to locals at no charge.)  The cover story was that they were getting photos for Christmas cards.  A great cover story but then she realized she actually had to send out Christmas cards which she hadn't done in years.  It was a lot of work to keep up the cover story but it worked!  Her husband and the dogs were completely surprised!

  Mr. Bo Jangles

Mr. Bo Jangles' Column (This is the best part)

Wow, our book signing was so popular - we sold out almost immediately -  that I have decided to have a "paw signing" as soon as my book comes out.  My first book is "How I Met Mr. Bo Jangles" - I wrote it from my Mom's perspective.   Look for it in the spring.  Also, could you please tell my Dad to stop telling people that he is going to take my job - sitting at the front door with the ocean breeze on his face.  It's just not funny.  No one is going to rub his belly and tell him he's cute no matter how long he sits there!

Sequoia's Column

This was my £avoЯite gift.  It's a guitaЯ.  I love it so much that I get it first thing in the morning.  Mom and Dad love hearing it, especially bЯight and eaЯly!  I'm thinking of asking Pamelina H. (the most famous guitaЯ aЯtist who happens to be in our galleЯy) to paint it for me.  (I have decided to take over my own column now that I can talk.)

We had a wonderful Christmas with Sequoia and our friends.  Every time Sequoia opened a present, he said "Oh Wow!"  It was very cute.  We hope you had a great holiday and are looking forward to the new year.

Here is to a Happy, Healthy and Wildly Successful New Year!
