Music Theory: September 11 - October 2
Topics: Basics of Music (melody, harmony & rhythm), The Next Step (intervals, chords, keys and time signatures), Digging Deeper (chords part two, four-part harmony), Harmonic Analysis (altered chords, modes, substitutions)
Hip Hop Workshop: Rehearsals begin September 16
This workshop will start with separate classes about making beats and writing rhymes. Then the two groups will be brought together to work out songs. Everyone will write and record two originals. The gig takes place simultaneously with Rock Workshop.

Songwriting: October 9 - November 13
The Songwriting series walks you through the steps of composing your own music. It helps answer questions such as, "How do I write lyrics?" or "I have parts, but how do I turn them into a song?" This class will give a framework for converting your creative ideas into a workable form for you or anyone else you'd like to share them with.
Group Classes: Monthly
Interested in starting a new instrument? Group classes cover everything you'd want to know to get started. Topics include: how to shop for an instrument, buying vs. renting, equipment, accessories, maintenance, a demonstration and group lesson/chance to try out some instruments. Musician's Toolkit Series: Monthly
The Musician's Toolkit series is a monthly class that focuses on something of interest to a large group of musicians. The classes are always very cheap and open to anyone. Sept. 18: Drum Maintenance, Oct. 16: Collaborative Songwriting, Nov. 20: Well-Being and Avoiding Injury
