NEW WEBSITE!

It's been a long time coming...

When the Foundry opened its doors five years ago, we were primarily a rehearsal studio space for bands. Then lesson teachers started renting rooms and giving lessons. A little while later we started Rock Workshop. Then we began holding Student Jams at local venues. Then we hired an Education Director to help develop more educational programs for our students and the community. Oh yeah...we acquired a recording studio, too.

The New WebsiteTHE MUSICIAN'S WORKSHOP

So we figured it was about time to upgrade our website to reflect the fact that we our now a place for music education, rehearsals and recordings. We can now say we truly provide musicians the toolkit they need to become better players.

Please take a look and let us know what you think!

Soundcheck Sessions:

Madison Music Foundry's recording studio, Blast House Studios, has partnered with Manic Eye Media and True Endeavors to create  the Soundcheck Sessions. As described on the True Endeavors blog, these sessions show "behind-the-scenes exclusive video footage that features touring musicians as they perform their fave songs in the greenroom, during soundcheck, in the studio, or wherever they feel like hanging out.  They play the tunes, we bring the cameras."

RECAP

Student Jam and Rock Workshop Showcase

Student JamLast weekend we had another successful Student Jam and Rock Workshop Showcase at the High Noon Saloon.

About 40 Madison Music Foundry students performed on 10 songs that they worked on in their lessons. In addition to rock classics such as Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Hotel California by the Eagles, this jam included funk tune Chameleon by Herbie Hancock and jazz standard Autumn Leaves by Johnny Mercer.

Rock Workshop - Corrosive ViceWe had a record eight bands play for the Rock Workshop Showcase. This was the first session we opened up for adults (six youth bands and two adult), and it was hard to tell who was having the most fun!

Congrats to all the bands for playing a great show! Stay tuned for a special condensed summer session of Rock Workshop in August. And we'll be hitting the fall session in September.
