Dorothy's Root Beer
Root Beer Lady
Do you know about the Root Beer Lady? Well you should! Dorothy moved to Knife lake in 1934 and became a BWCA legend. An ice-cold root beer and a warm welcome greeted thousands of visitors to her island home. Her root beer still lives on today and her story is read by many in the book titled "Root Beer Lady. Be sure to check out both when you come by Seagull Outfitters. Click here to read more on her book and others

Greetings!

We are coming up on a few of the busiest weeks of the season. It's a great time to be enjoying the sun, picking the record blueberry crop, or reeling in the smallmouth.

Full Moon Paddle
Moon
Two nights ago we had a full moon and a clear sky. The staff at Seagull decided it would be a perfect time for a paddle! We headed out to the Seagull Palisades, fished as the moon rose, then climbed to the top and basked in the moonlight. The moon was bright with its reflection shimmering in the water below. It was so relaxing just to sit in the breeze and take in the view. We hope everyone who was out on their trip that night got to enjoy it as much as we did.
A Year  for Smallmouth
Pile of Smallmouth We all know that the fishing up in the Boundary Waters is hard to beat. This year we had whether that has made the fishing interesting, but the BWCA has not let us down. The smallies have been keeping us busy! The reports from our customers lately have been great to hear. "more fish than we could keep"..."best smallmouth lake I've ever been to"..."near record sizes"..."best fight pound for pound, gotta love the excitement" How can you ignore it? They're bitting, they're fighting, they could be yours... Click here to read more
We hope you are enjoying your summer. Remember, it's never too late to come visit us up at Seagull.

Sincerely,
