• Wetting your shirt-sleeves or pant legs  with cool water 
• Sitting in a cool bath 
• Pour cool water over your head
• Wet a bandana and tie it around head or neck
• Soaking your feet in cool water
• Freezing bottles of water to use as Ice-packs for the body    
• Place frozen bottles of water in a bowl in front of a fan, as the air blows over the bottles, you get a home-made air conditioner effect.

Remember Hot Air Raises

• If you in a 2 story home, the down stars areas are cooler
• If you live in a 1 story - attic vents help heat to escape.  
• Well insulated attics keep heat out (look for energy rebates to save money)

Foods - that help keep you cool

• Frozen fruits and juices
• hot spicy foods - the peppers causes perspiration, as it evaporates the body cools down
• Add mint to tea, sauces, smoothies

Apply mint and Cucumber 

• Applying minty or menthol products also cool your skin: slather on lotion with peppermint (avoid your face and eyes), shower with peppermint soap, use a minty foot soak, and powders with mint. Mint refreshes the skin and leaves a nice cooling sensation.
• Cucumbers cooled and sliced thin applied to the forehead cool the body - "Cool as a cucumber"

Finally stay in the shade and wear light colored natural fiber clothing.
