Hello TLC parents! What a fun-filled month we had!
February's themes were Friendship, Teddy Bears & Valentines. The (K-5th grade) children made many fun & creative crafts such as; a ''Bear Hugs'' Craft, tissue-paper Valentine's hearts, painting with red, purple and pink, teddy bear card holder, Valentine's Hats, Hearts Mouse Craft and Valentine's Day cards.
Also, the Kindergarteners exchanged ''Valentines'' with their TLC friends. They enjoyed a special ''Valentine's Day'' snack of chocolate munchkins with red & pink sprinkles and enjoyed watching Clifford's Valentine's Day Movie. They also continued to enjoy music & movement games, journal writing, free choice center activities and choosing the ''special helper'' of the day!
And a Biiiigggg thank you to all the parents who sent in cards and treats on Valentine's Day. It was very much appreciated and the children had a great time sharing with their friends. :)
In March, the children will continue with arts & crafts, free play in centers, calendar & special helper, computer time and music & movement games such as; freeze dance, musical chairs, etc. The Kindergarteners will also continue with weekend news, journal writing and practicing letters & numbers.
Children in the K-5 Afterschool Program will continue making arts and crafts, playing board games and puzzles, ironing beads, participating in homework room, enjoying sports in the gymnasium as well as computer time and free play in the centers.
Kindergarteners need to be on the lookout for ''Lucky'' the Leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day! Lucky has been known to break into our TLC room and eat all our Lucky Charms cereal, so we will have to see if our old pal ''Lucky'' makes an appearance this year!
Fun With Foods On Fridays in March will have the children making pudding with cinnamon graham crackers, tortilla chips and cheese and apples with dip. We will also celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the K-5 Afterschool Program on Thursday, March 17 at 3:30! Parents please sign up to bring in treats at our Parent Center. Please make sure that a written list of ingredients accompanies your treats.
We are looking forward to another fun-filled month. Thank you so much for all your support.
