We were so excited that the ground hog did not see his shadow as we are all looking forward to an early spring! We celebrated Ground Hog Day a little late due to the snow and then quickly moved on to Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day and President's Day. The children made Love Bugs, Cuddle Bears, and have been busy working on Arctic Animals. They even made George Washington's Hat! We read all Ground Hogs Special Secret, Ground Hog Gets A Say, Kiss Me I'm Perfect, Will You Be My Valen Swine?, Slugs in Love, The Biggest Valentine Ever, The Day It Rained Hearts.
They are still practicing Mat Man! He teaches our children Body Awareness-Body parts, body functions, drawing skills with placing body parts correctly, sequencing, and organization, socialization through participation, following directions, contributing, taking turns, and number awareness by counting body parts. The children are enjoying inside music and games with Me & My Bean Bag that develop gross motor skills, listening skills and following directions.
Next month we will be talking about Dr. Seuss, how March comes in like a Lion & out like Lamb and St. Patrick's Day.
Please remember that sign-up days are done via the computer.
