Greetings!

There is a lot of excitement and activity in our centers as the children prepare to celebrate various holidays, some well known and others quite obscure.

TLC's office is also busy as we enter into registration season. There are  important registration reminders in this month's E-News so please review this information and take note of the deadlines. Be sure your family is all set with TLC Summer Camp 2011 and Fall 2011-2012 by registering early.

This year we received many responses to our Parent Surveys. Thank you to all the families that completed the survey. Your comments and input are truly welcomed and helpful as we continue to provide quality childcare for Trumbull's working parents.

If you have any questions please call us at 203-452-9626 or email TLC at

TLC Staff
E-News from TLC ASP Madison

First and foremost, we would like to mention three of our students who were honored as "Student of the Month":  Michael K. for math, Natalie N. for learning center and Jayna P. for math.Congrats to all!

This year's basketball season has come to an end and we will miss watching both the boys and girls play. The girl's team did very well and the boy's team remains undefeated. Also, the mascot, our beloved Panther was present to cheer on both teams. However, the ending of the basketball season gives us an opportunity to spend more time in the gym. Of course, basketball is the favored activity for most of the students, but a game of floor hockey is fun as well. We have foam hockey sticks and the replacement for a puck is a dodge ball. This equipment may appear somewhat unorthodox, and certainly we will not be candidates for the Stanley cup, but the students are enjoying themselves.

Moving along to the cafeteria activities; Maggi M., Natalie L. and Caylie F. were given an opportunity to make "stuffies" (stuffed animals). Maggi chose a bunny and named him Chuckles. Natalie made a seal affectionately called Puff-Puff while Caylie mad a dog who is still unnamed. The initial project took place at TLC while the completed animals were finished at home and brought in to show everyone.

We have moved away from card games for a while and we have been focusing on other types of games. Taboo is always fun because it allows several players to be involved. Alex R. was our last winner. Michael K. is now enjoying "Catch Phrase" as well as winning a game. Rummikub is a stand-by that requires some foresight with regard to the organizing of a series of numbers and remains a favorite. Emma B. was pleased to have won our last Rummikub game.

We recently celebrated two holidays with special treats. Chinese New Year was a reason to have fortune cookies and for Valentine's Day we enjoyed donuts and homemade cookies that Marietta made.

Now that the weather is somewhat warmer and the snow is melting, we may soon have an opportunity to play outdoors. In the meantime, we continue to use the gym and the cafeteria for other fun activities.
