February was a great month even though the cold snowy weather kept us inside. The children enjoyed many indoor activities. Just think, the Ground Hog didn't see his shadow which means that there are only a few more weeks left of winter and spring is on its way!
The children had a great time playing indoor games such as Bingo, the Wii, cards, ping pong, and Legos. The children have been dancing and exercising to Zumba on a weekly basis and they love it. They have also been dancing to the Macarena, cha cha slide, and electric slide to keep them fit, and in good healthy shape.
When we were able to go outside the children played in the snow, made snow angels and went sledding on our "Snow Celebration Day". Then they came inside and enjoyed hot cocoa and S'mores.
During February the children were busy decorating for Valentine's Day. All of Fun Zone participated in making a friendship quilt and friendship collage. They also created heart friends, cuddle bears, cartoon characters books and Valentine's bags for their party. Art was created from shaving cream, glue, and food coloring.
The children made their own quesadillas which they enjoyed making and eating. Quesadillas is their all time favorite food to cook.
Our Valentine's Day party was a success.Thank you to all of the parents who contributed snacks to celebrate this great holiday! Children enjoyed giving out Valentine's Day cards, eating delicious snacks and playing freeze dance, limbo and musical chairs.
In March, we have a fundraiser (bake sale) to support St. Jude's hospital. The children will be decorating snacks to sell to parents. Our goal for this fundraiser is to raise $100.00, so please help the children reach their goal. We will also make St. Patrick's Day crafts and with "green foods". Dr. Seuss's birthday is on March 2nd so the children will be performing a Dr. Seuss play for preschoolers. All of the Fun Zone will be working together as a team to make a great play.
