January Sale

Every day in January you will find a different item on sale at the Blue Flamingo!  The sale schedule is posted on the website and is updated every day on Facebook.  You can also call the store to find out the sale of the day.  We will end the sale on January 31st with a $2 bag sale: any thrift items you can fit in a bag for only $2.  Don't miss it!

If you do miss the January sale, don't fret---February will offer its own specials!

Winter Gift Ideas

The Blue Flamingo is ready for Groundhog's, President's and Valentine's Days, with a fresh stock of Fair Trade chocolate and red, pink, and Fair Trade gift items.

We figure that a little extra chocolate and/or a small gift rarely hurts anyone's feelings and there are several February holidays available for celebration.

Kisii Stone HeartsWe have recently restocked our Fair Trade chocolate supply, and will be adding chocolate hearts and white chocolate with strawberry Divine chocolate bars to help perk up your winter.  In addition, we have a number of Fair Trade items that make exceptional Valentine's Day or "Hey, isn't it a great day!" gifts, including cotton batik scarves, heart-shaped kisii stone paperweights, "texting gloves," which transform from mittens to gloves, and miniature peace flags.

New Volunteer

The Blue Flamingo is pleased to welcome Katie, a volunteer who started working at the store just before Thanksgiving.  Store manager, Shannon, says, "Katie has been working hard and is a pleasure to work with!"

We met Katie through our partnership with Mosaic.  She has been helping us keep the store tidy and the clothes rainbowed.  Katie enjoys bowling, movies, and afternoon naps.

Current Needs
Blue Flamingo always welcomes your donations of gently used items.

Currently, w
e are looking for children's clothing, Yarnlinens, dish sets, kitchen items & utensils, men's jeans and work boots, current adult fiction, children's picture books for ages 4-10, and lots of people have been looking for yarn as well.

A Breakfast Awakening 2

Did you know that the Blue Flamingo is one of Breakfast logoseveral programs that fall under the umbrella of United Methodist Ministries?  It's true, and we want to be sure our Blue Flamingo friends know about the upcoming Breakfast Awakening event.

This early-morning event will offer time to reflect on our work in the past year, meet other friends and partners, hear about our philosophy of neighborhood-based programs, and enjoy a yummy breakfast---all before you head off to work!  Ticket and sponsorship information can be found here.
