ECS Sunday
Episcopal Community Services Sunday
Saturday May 5th & Sunday May 6th

ECS Mission
Episcopal Community Services empowers vulnerable individuals and families by providing high-quality social and educational services that affirm human dignity and promote social justice.
ECS Vision
Episcopal Community Services is faith in action and leads the way in responding to changing human needs.

Please help us support ECS' mission and vision with an offering during services on May 5th & 6th. Specially designated envelopes will be included in our leaflets. Checks should be made payable to All Saints' Church with "ECS" in the memo section. Thank you and God bless.

Layette Sunday Results

We were blessed by your support for Layette Sunday which allowed us to send many items for infants and children to St. Barnabas' Mission in West Philadelphia, a shelter for women and children. These items as well as the generosity of your monetary donations to Episcopal Relief & Development totaling $779 were gratefully received. Thank you for your continued support of these vital ministries.

All Saints' Volunteers

Prepare & Serve Meal at St. Mark's
Thanks so much to all of our volunteers who provided the April 21st meal organized through the Northeast Committee on Hunger and Homelessness. We have never run short of those who are willing to help. The good folk this month were Rosalie Rush, Tom Shand, Tony & Nora Perry, Diane Laidlaw, JoAnne Tempest, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Kathy Cantz, Jeannie Miller, & Maureen Reardon, Lynn Duffy, and All Saints' meal organizers Michele Haberle and Nancy Ryan.

We had guest helpers, too. Seen here is the Patterson family - (L-R) Mac, Laura, (their recently discovered cousin Nora), Scott and Will - from St. David's in Radnor. They joined us as part of Will's outreach for his pending Confirmation.
Pattersons
We are grateful to everyone who volunteers for this important outreach.
Must be as a Child
You Must be as a Child:
Encountering the Word with Children and Youth

People of all ages are invited to join together on May 5th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Church of the Good Samaritan in Paoli, for a day of fun and learning. Children will participate in a rotation of hands-on workshops including biblical storytelling, bread-baking, biblical play, and vestment-making. The Liturgical Commission invites you to reconnect with a childlike experience of faith. Keynote speaker Bill Gordh, a biblical storyteller and musician, will lead adults in workshops, exploring creative ways of incorporating children and youth more fully into our communities' experience of scripture and worship. Participants from All Saints' include Christina Jarosz and Jacob, Dolores Ryan, and Maggie McKinney. If anyone would like to join them for this worthwhile experience, please speak to Steve right away so he can send in the registration. Children, of course, are especially welcome!
The Episcopal Church Women and Men of All Saints' Church
cordially invite you to
The Annual Corporate Communion and Breakfast
Saturday May 12th at 9:00 a.m.

Our presenter will be the Honorable Allyson Schwartz, member of the US House of Representatives. Tickets are $5 adults and children and $3 for children under 12. For tickets, call the church office (215-637-8787) or see Joan Kelly, Tony Perry or Doris DiRitis in church. Checks? Please make them payable to Episcopal Church Women. Thanks. We hope to see you there!
Update on the Search for a New Rector

Jude Winters, our Search Committee chair, tells us the committee has received the names of more potential candidates from within our diocese. One has already met with our committee. Jill Mathis, diocesan Canon for Transition Ministry, returned from a national conference of her peers and brought us more prospects from all over the country. Additionally, several priests have contacted us now that the computer system for transition ministry lists All Saints' as open to receiving names. The Search Committee met again on Sunday April 15 after the 10 AM service. Your prayers, please, that God will bless this next part of our search for a new permanent Rector.

UTO Blue Box
UTO Sunday is May 20th
United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. United Thank Offering is entrusted to receive offerings provided by you, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal Church and in Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world. "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." Please support The United Thank Offering by using the envelope enclosed in your May 19th & 20th worship leaflets. Thank you and God Bless.
Summer? Summer?! Wait! Where did Spring go?

Okay folks, false alarm, we're not ready to turn on that air conditioner yet. However, it is time to start thinking about the plans for our youth this summer since it's right around the corner! The Diocese of Pennsylvania has partnered with two camps this year - Camp Arrowhead and City Camp.

Camp Arrowhead: Adventure & Spiritual Awareness
Camp Arrowhead enriches a young person's relationship with God in the beauty of nature, outdoor life, and community of camp. Children entering 2nd & 3rd grades are welcome to join for a 'Taste of Camp', while older children may choose a day camp or a full week's camping experience. Interested? Click here for more information or contact the Office of Youth Ministry at 215-627-6434.

City Camp: Make A Change This Summer!
Who would have thought ... a camp in the city! The Youth Ministry of the Diocese of PA coordinates six week-long missionary summer camp sessions for youth 7th grade and older. Adults, too, have come away feeling refreshed in their faith. "City Camp is a unique opportunity to combine the opportunities of a Christian camp with the life changing experience of urban mission work." City Camp is co-sponsored by one of our neighboring parishes, St. Mark's Church and takes place at St. James the LessInterested? Click here for more information or email info@diopayouth.org. And, while we have your attention, we need your help collecting Art Supplies for camp: yarn, string, toilet paper rolls, metal & plastic bottle caps, plastic bottles, egg cartons, Elmer's glue, straws, marbles, buttons, hemp string, acrylic paint, tempera paint, large yogurt containers, fabric scraps, whisks, hand mixers, sand, tissue paper. For a complete list of items or for more information contact Andrew Kellner 215.627.6434 x 120 or andrewk@diopa.org
Ryan Turner 1
76 Trombones (- 75) Lead the Big Parade
More A's in school than AAA has in its name ... Distinguished Honors ... screenwriter and budding novelist ... a bonafide 'Music Man' ... tutor to students, one of a group of advisers to the school principal ... and an acolyte at All Saints' since he was 8 years old (Jim Lee got him started). This is just some of Ryan Turner who graduates this spring from Bensalem High School. The hard part for us is that we lose him as an acolyte. May 20th will be his last Sunday as a server. Ryan will enter West Chester University as a freshman this fall. Coffee Hour on Sunday the 20th will be different. Balloons, cake, and thank-you's to Ryan for all the years he has served at All Saints'.

Christmas Bazaar Crafters Need Your Help
Our Crafters are accepting donations of anything and everything! Glue, tape, ribbons, old cards ... anything that might be useful in helping us create the many craft items we prepare for the Christmas Bazaar. Yes! We need to get 'artsy-crafty' now. Please bring all items to church. Colleen Ryan will be gladly accept the raw material to be transformed into bobbles, bangles and beads! Thanks.
Vacation Church School
Summer Sunday School
Beginning Sunday June 17th, Dolores Ryan, with help from volunteers, will offer Summer Vacation Church School for all ages of children. It has been a long time since All Saints' has had a summer program. Thanks so much to all who have volunteered to help. Now we need parents to encourage children to come! Everyone will meet in the parish hall. Some sessions will take place outside. We begin each Sunday at 10 a.m. Our Sunday Summer School program will end on August 26th, the last weekend before Labor Day. Hope you'll join us!

People News
Our thanks to Ava, Caroline, & Luke McAnally who purchased the book, Heaven is for Real and dedicated it to All Saints' Church School. Have you read it yet? No? It's always a joy to discover the greatness of Heaven through such a young person's perspective. Ava, Caroline and Luke's dedication comes with the joy in their own worlds that, "They love learning about Jesus' love at All Saints'." Thank you Ava, Caroline & Luke.

Congratulations to Walter DeWitt IV who wrote a paper on the subject of 'people with mental disabilities'. What an in-depth subject for an 8th grader to tackle. Congratulations? He received a 95 on the paper.

Please welcome our new parishioner, Joseph McKibbin. A resident of Bensalem, Joe comes to us from another communion. Ask Steve to point him out to you and say, "Welcome!"

Cary Rush
, finally, gets to come home! Following hospitalization Cary was transferred to Paul's Run (again) for rehabilitation. He made it home. April 24th was graduation day. Now he just needs to gain strength and endurance.

We're thinking Jared Davis might be in the running for one of our future counters - Jared made the honor roll at Willingboro High School after just one semester! Talk about getting a running start to success! Jared is an acolyte and is the son of Joanne & Emmett Davis, and grandson of Ella & Ed Cunningham. Keep up the good work Jared!

healthcare
Pat Binkley is now receiving day care at Senior Care of Bristol. It is good news for Pat and for Russ. Activity for Pat and respite for Russ.

Bob Drager
got his ear boxed. Or he had a cancer on his ear removed. You decide. But the first explanation for that bandage is the better story.

Jim Griffin
hasn't been in church for awhile. Jim says he is 90 now (hard to believe) and he thought it was time to give up the keys. So he sold his car. He's still going to church. In the chapel at Ann's Choice where he resides. Still, we miss him at All Saints'.

Wayne MacDougall
is currently in room 127 at River's Edge. His status is being changed to 'long term resident' which means another room move. It also means he may have a long term roommate. He has seen too many temporary roommates come and go. Hopefully, this move will offer more friendship stability.

Mike Ryan has been transferred to Pennypack Center Nursing Home on Lawndale Avenue. Your prayers, please, for Mike's well-being.

John Scandlin has been hospitalized at Fox Chase Hospital. Again, your prayers for John's well-being.

Georgiann Teater was hospitalized at Nazareth Hospital for heart-related chest pain and has returned home.

Myrna Weinstein was hospitalized at Aria Frankford where a blood clot was discovered in her leg. Heperin has worked its magic and the pain has 98% diminished. She is home now.
