Hazel Knoll
With sadness comes this news of the death of Hazel Knoll, our volunteer office assistant for at least a dozen years, on Saturday October 29, 2011. Parishioner, volunteer, altar guild member, Hazel was admitted to ICU with pneumonia and congestive heart failure the same week of her death. It was too much for Hazel, now in her 90's, to overcome. Your interim visited with Hazel on Thursday. Donna Carrick spent time with her the following day. Though frail, Hazel was Hazel during the visits. Her hearty laugh ... her smile ... her gratitude for coming to see her both in ICU and in hospice. Linda Mullen, who was Hazel's transport to and from the church office, and your interim both agree. All Saints' office will not be the same without Hazel. We miss her so. The Burial Office will be conducted for Hazel and Holy Eucharist celebrated on Wednesday November 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the church. A one hour visitation in the church at 9:00 a.m. will precede the service.

Rest eternal grant to Hazel, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her.
May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Hospitalizations

Cary Rush
has undergone two surgeries and a couple of stays in ICU as part of his recovery. Cary will move to a rehab facility before he makes his way home again. Dodie has spent the past month running between Abington Memorial and Aria Frankford while looking after him. Both are pretty tired so cards are better than phone calls. Thanks very much.

Wayne MacDougall had a fall requiring hospitalization at Aria Frankford. Wayne has been transferred back and forth between the hospital and River's Edge for rehab before he gets back to being our neighbor again. Marilyn? She, also, is familiar with the trek between hospital and home.

Rosella Laidlaw was hospitalized and is now home recuperating. Peace and quiet are the remedy so, again, cards are better than phone calls. Thanks.

Lord, grant your healing grace to Cary, Wayne, Rosella and all who are sick, injured or disabled, that they may be made whole. Amen.

Yes, we'll have early coffee on if you forget.

Thank you to our meal volunteers!

Saturday morning, October 1st, volunteers from All Saints' met in our kitchen to prepare meal supplies for the lunch served to people from the neighborhood of St. Mark's Church. St. Mark's is located in the 4400 block of Frankford Avenue. It is an area where the need for nutritious meals is great. Joining our volunteers - and they are frequent helpers - were women from the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Our thanks to All Saints' helpers and to the LAOH volunteers: Michelle Haberle, Nancy Ryan, Diane Laidlaw, Walt DeWitt, Adge Martin, JoAnn Tempest, Nora Perry, Rosalee Rush, Tom Shand, Lynn Duffy (LAOH), Marie Murphy (LAOH) and Caitlin Murphy (LAOH). And a special thanks to Michelle and Nancy who were our organizers for this important outreach.

New Nursery

All Saints' New Nursery

All Saints' new and improved nursery. How nice is this? You are seeing new carpet, new paint, new curtains, new crib ... changing table ... rocker and chairs. No, the waste basket isn't new but the monitor on the wall is! If your little one is tired of being in church on Sunday or wants to compete with the Interim Rector for speaking time, moms & dads and infants can camp out here and still be a part of the service! The monitor screen and sound are focused on the service in the church. So much work went into providing this comfortable space. We hope parents will take advantage of it when necessary. Thanks so much. And thank you to Donna Carrick and John Breccia for the hours and hours of work they provided to make our new nursery a beautiful space.

Capozio Baptism
The Baptism of

Brenna Eleanor Capozio

Seen her with her smiley Big Sis and Mom & Dad, Jason and Staci Capozio, is little Brenna whose Baptism we celebrated during the 5:30 Eucharist on Saturday October 15th. Jason's work for the Daily News includes Sundays so mom & dad have been finding a church home at All Saints' on Saturday evenings. Congratulations and God bless Brenna in her new life in Christ.

Bill & Tracey Noble

Tracey and Bill Noble

On Saturday October 15th Tracey Smyth and Bill Noble were joined in Holy Matrimony by the Rev. Robert Betts at All Saints' Church. Tracey began attending All Saints' last year at the invitation of Tracey Parsons-Thomas. She joined Bill in Florida where he works as a civilian employee for the United States Navy. Both returned to All Saints' to celebrate the beginning of their life together. Many thanks to Bob for stepping in for Steve who was away for a previous commitment. Congratulations and God bless to Tracey and Bill who now make their home in the Sunshine State.

Anybody need a kitty?
Dr. Joe Kulkosky, our multi-talented organist, biologist, and now animal adoption specialist, has been taking care of 5 little kittens in his garage. Here they are. Each needs a loving home because, well, Joe has his hands full with that organist & biologist thing. Would your home look and feel better with the addition of one of these loveable little creatures? Please see Joe at church or call the church office [215-637-8787] and let us know if you're interested. Aren't they just too cute?
