Seriously? |
Some laws are simply weird. Here's a wacky one from Kentucky: It is illegal to dye a duckling blue and offer it for sale unless more than six are for sale at once. |
Testimony -- and not the legal kind |
They were very good to me and made me understand everything. Very nice people. Thank you again.

Caution: Tiki-style torch fuel a deadly package for children |
| | Torch fuel oil for tiki-style torches comes in packages that look very similar to juice bottles. |
This summer, be aware that torch fuel used in tiki-style torches is a very dangerous substance that is packaged in containers that look very similar to juice bottles.
Used at camp sites and other outdoor areas, torch fuel is extremely dangerous to young children because they think it is juice and will drink it. Small amounts of torch fuel can cause death or serious injury if swallowed and aspirated into the lungs. We believe torch fuel packaging is defective because it is too attractive to these children.

What is bad faith? |
| | Click the above photo to hear the story of a widow whose insurance company was not treating her fairly and how Attorney Tye Smith helped her get what she was entitled to have. |
Does this scenario sound fair -- you bought disability insurance to help take care of your family's financial needs in case you ever were hurt and unable to work. Unfortunately, the unexpected did happen and you were forced to be off work for a while. So you file a claim with your insurance company and then the problems start. You get the run-around, the stall, the send-more-paperwork routine.
This could be an example of an insurance company acting in bad faith. And if they are, it is not only the wrong way to treat their customers, it is also illegal.

Exploding fire pots turn outdoor fun into dangerous event |
Fire pots are ceramic vases with a stainless steel insert in the middle that holds flammable gel. They can be used indoors but are primarily set up on a patio or in another outdoor setting and used for lighting and decoration. The gel fuel in the middle is lit with a match and a small flame is supposed to provide light. However, an explosion can occur when the fire pot is refilled with additional gel which is poured on top of the gel that is already lit. If the flame appears to be out and more gel is poured on top if, an explosion can occur. When the pot explodes, jelly-like fuel which is on fire splatters on nearby people and objects. The pourable gel fuel has been recalled by the CPSC on two separate instances -- the first recall involving 500,000 containers sold at Bed, Bath & Beyond and the second involving 2,000,000 units. Super-magnets are not for children
| |
Super-strong magnet sets used by adults in offices as stress relievers are causing severe injuries to children from toddlers to teens who accidentally swallow them. The tiny silver-black magnets cause serious damage to intestines by blocking the natural paths inside the stomach.
If two or more of these high-powered magnets are swallowed, they could try to connect inside the intestines, essentially causing a dangerous kink that could lead to additional complications.
Learn more about the dangers of super magnets.
