UBC Dentistry Community Access Fund
The new Community Access Fund at UBC Dentistry will provide comprehensive dental treatment to patients who cannot afford to pay for it. Qualifying patients will be able to receive the comprehensive treatment they need at no charge, while students will have the educational advantage of being able to follow-through on the full treatment plan they have identified for these patients. The Paul Rondeau Memorial Lecture
The Rondeau Memorial Lecture and bestowing of a Humanitarian Award is held every two years to commemorate the life and contributions of Dr. Paul Rondeau, whose accidental death occurred during his term as President of VDDS.
We proudly announce that Dr. Go rdon J. Christensen will present The Paul Rondeau Memorial Lecture, "The Christensen Bottom Line - 2012". This occurs on Monday, February 27 at The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. Please click here for detailed information on the lecture. Dr. Christensen's presentation will be in conjunction with our Rondeau Memorial Luncheon and the Presentation of the 2012 Humanitarian Award.

The VDDS Board of Directors congratulates Dr. Saida Rasul, who will receive the Rondeau Humanitarian Award at the February 27th Luncheon. Nominated by her peers, Dr. Rasul has amply demonstrated leadership and philanthropy within the dental community at home and abroad. Currently "giving back" in Afghanistan, Karachi and many communities in Africa, please plan to join us at the luncheon to hear more about this fabulous VDDS member!

Ending a great series of lectures this season will be a forum presented by The BC Society of Periodontists! Taking place on Friday, April 13 at a new location downtown, SFU's "Centre for Dialogue" will wow you with it's unique conference set-up.. a mini U.N. in the heart of downtown Vancouver! This informative session features five leading specialists: Drs. Tassos Irinakis, Victor Mak, Angela Demeter and Kenneth Lee, and is chaired by the BC Society of Periodontology President, Dr. Michelle Lee. The full day session will cover current topics in Periodontal Excellence - anterior implants, ridge augmentation, interdisciplinary (perio/pros), with an opportunity for Q & A in the afternoon.
