Point2 and CREA Enter Listing Distribution Agreement
The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has selected Point2
to power part of its national online data distribution facility. The data distribution facility will optimize CREA member listing exposure to online buyers and introduce new listing accuracy measures designed to maintain high levels of data consistency and integrity on key real estate consumer portals and search engines across Canada.
Under the agreement, Point2 will distribute up to 350,000 residential and commercial listings from participating brokers and agents to a number of third party websites as directed by those participating brokers and agents at least once every 24 hours.
CREA will offer the new service to its members as part of their membership benefits, at no added cost. The service is expected to launch later this summer.

Craigslist and Other Manual Syndication Partners
Our Association and MLS clients frequently ask us about Craigslist. While Craigslist IS a syndication partner in our network, here are a few things you should know:
Craigslist does not accept automatic feeds. As a result, listings cannot be sent to Craigslist through the syndication dashboards.
Within Point2 Agent (upgrade), we do make it possible to semi-automate the process of posting listings to Craigslist as well as other manual syndication partners (NY Times, eBay, and Backpage, to name a few). Details can be found in our Point2 Agent User Manual. |

Help?! The Price is Wrong!
Have you had a member come across their listing on a syndication partner site with outdated information such as the listing price or status? If the answer is yes, here are a few things to be aware of before reporting the problem:
1. Has the member made the change within the MLS 48+ hours ago? While we synchronize data with each MLS once every 24 hours, it can generally take up to 48 hours for the change to appear on the syndication partner's website.
2. Is the member sending their listing to the syndication partner site through any other source? Some examples of other sources could be the brokerage or MLS vendor. When a syndication partner receives duplicate listings, they will only display it from one source.
3. Do the listing photos contain the Point2, MLS Certified, or your own MLS watermark? If not, there is a good chance the listing in question didn't come from Point2.
