Greetings!
We are anticipating cooler breezes, and if we are lucky, some afternoon showers, a much needed break from the scorching summer! An Iyengar practice helps you to acclimatize to the season. As Mr. Iyengar suggests we try to practice close to the temperature of the season, i.e. he says, the yoga room should be a little warm in the summer, and cool in the winter, to be more in touch with our outside environment. The work is to adjust our inner controls instead of adjusting the external environment.
The summer kids yoga classes were stellar...witness, Stella Wolf's Kapotasana below! So! Join us this fall for more fun fall kids yoga. Richard Rudis returns October 5th for a healing evening of sacred sounds. Welcome back IYCD teacher Jonathan Dickstein, back from an Iyengar summer yoga study. Check out Jonathan's all-level classes.

Not New to Yoga,
but new to Iyengar Yoga
Angie Woyar
Saturday 9/15 12-2
This workshop is designed for yogis and yoginis interested in yoga as practiced by BKS Iyengar. Iyengar Yoga addresses the eight- limbed path towards spiritual fulfillment from a perspective which is practical, experiential and intensely personal. Iyengar Yoga teachers modify the classic asanas (yoga postures) for individual students with the use of props -- such as blocks, blankets and belts. Props allow for a deeper penetration into the posture, as well as a longer stay. In Iyengar Yoga, the search for union of mind, body, and spirit begins with a focus on alignment.
