North Chatham Library News September 2010
|
|

We hope you all enjoyed your summer as much as we did at the
North Chatham Library. Please stop by
and take a look at the photographs of children and the art work they did in
July and August. Our roster was full,
and I was encouraged by the joy of learning and creating. Thank-you to those who participated,
and to
the enthusiastic, professional adults who taught them.
Thank-you also to the library board members who showed the
three Mark Twain movies and to those who arranged the' Last Chance Band'
get-together.
But the cooler weather will soon be upon us, and it is time
to move into Autumn mode. Just to name the next
two events (all are free) the library is sponsoring, the Congolese group,'Diata, Diata'' who will perform music, dance and storytelling at the North Chatham Fire
House, on Sunday Sept. 12 at 3:00 pm.
On September 25 the Traveling Dinner takes place with 8 different delectable meals prepared by local patrons.
A big thank-you goes
to Senator Saland for facilitating a grant for energy efficient, easier on the
eyes, lighting that has recently been installed in the library.See below for two poems from our 'Teen Poetry Class'.
