Local History

The Library is developing a LOCAL HISTORY section. We are eagerly looking for books on this topic. Does anyone have a copy of Kinderhook Lake that they could donate to this collection? Please.

| University level lectures on CD and DVD with topics in history, language and science.
An Introduction to Geology Lecture discusses the formation of the earth, its elements and GROUNDWATER as a non-renewable resource.

North Chatham Library News June 2010

Summer is here again and so is the North Chatham Free
Library Summer Program, held from July 6th to August 12th,
2010. This summer we celebrate OUR WORLD ALIVE with an exciting selection of
programs designed to stir the imagination, provide hands on fun and make some
crafts you'll love to take home. Teens will be on hand this Summer to help with the
programming. They will be reading to the
younger children, doing activities in Spanish and helping those who need it,
write up their log of books read every few days.

Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center
Explore the Valatie Kill with Chelsea Benson, program
coordinator from the Columbia County Soil & Water Conservation District
Open to all! We will take a look at the crick.

Ongoing Events
- The Hedgehog Book Club meets every other month
on the 3rd Thursday at 2:30 pm. For their July 15 meeting, they will be discussing Versailles: a Biography of a Palace by Tony Spawforth.
- The Starlight Book Club
meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month. They are discussing Biocentrism by Robert Lanza on June 23 at 6:45pm. If interested,
please call the library.

knitting and crochet group meets on the first Thursday of each month from 5-7
pm. Bring new, ongoing, and 'idea'
projects to the group. All are welcome!
