What's New at
Happy New Year!
As 2011 draws to a close, we are reminded of all the people and events in our lives that have made the past year so special. At Poet's Seat Health Care Center, we are proud to have been able to make several upgrades to our facility and implement many advancements in patient care. We look forward to continuing those efforts throughout the new year. We are especially thankful for all of our staff, residents and their families who make a difference each and every day.
We wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe new year!
Breakfast with Santa

Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Viadero spends time with Santa Clause at our annual Breakfast with Santa.

On Saturday, December 10, we held our annual Breakfast with Santa. Several families attended and enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast. Santa was on-hand to visit with all of the children, pose for photos and hear their Christmas wish list. All proceeds from the event benefited the residents' activities fund.
We thank everyone who came out to enjoy this holiday event and help make it such a wonderful success.
Poet's Seat Health Care Center now offering Palliative Care services
Poet's Seat Health Care Center is happy to announce, that beginning in December 2011, we are now offering Palliative Care services to all of our residents. Services can be ordered through pre-arranged consultations, and take place within our facility.
Palliative care is a special, intensive comfort care service, designed to improve quality of life by managing elevated levels of physical and/or emotional pain resulting from chronic medical conditions. A nurse practitioner is assigned to work directly with the resident and their families to discuss treatment options, develop a plan of care and coordinate all aspects of care services with other disciplines (which may include hospitals, pharmacies, and/or other health facilities).
The service is available to all residents of Poet's Seat Health Care Center, and is most appropriate for those suffering from chronic medical conditions and challenged with complex pain issues. The services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances.
At Poet's Seat Health Care Center, we are wholly committed to providing the best possible care to all of our residents, and we are pleased to be able to offer this special service. For more information, contact (413) 774-6318.
