What's New at
Welcome to the December What's New e-News. We have a very festive month ahead planned for our long- and short-term residents and families. In fact, we have so much planned, we can't mention everything here. For the full calendar of December activities, please visit our website.
To prepare for sending good tidings, Poet's Seat will have the workshop Holiday Card Crafts with Millie on December. 3. Residents will be creating their own one-of-a-kind holiday greeting cards to give to their loved ones.
The Saint John's Carolers will entertain throughout Poet's Seat on December 5, and students from the Mahar Glee Club will be singing holiday favorites on December 10.
Mark your calendar for our annual Pancakes with Santa Community Breakfast on December 11, 8 a.m. - 10 a.m. One and all are invited to this delicious meal prepared by our talented dietary staff, made fresh in our kitchen. Santa will also be there for pictures and to listen to your wish list. This event is open to residents and their families, as well as folks from the community. Children are encouraged to come. This is always a nice event that brings people together!
Poet's Seat brings in its own holiday shopping experience on December 11. Residents and staff will have the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for their loved ones. We will have several vendors on hand on December 15. Andrea, aka The Soap Mistress, has some wonderful homemade beauty products for sale. A marvelous quilter will also be selling her lovely, hand-made medium-sized quits and Millie will bring an assortment of handcrafted angels and other holiday wares.
Later that evening, residents will have their very own opportunity to meet Santa. He will be here to greet residents, take notes, and read "The Night before Christmas," a holiday favorite. Cookies and milk will be served. Families, friends and staff are welcomed to celebrate with our Poet's Seat family.
The Woodwind Choir, a gifted group of musicians from Artspace led by Dean Hurlbut will perform on December 18. We are looking forward to it.
No celebration is complete without a little dancing. On December 19, the North Country Line Dancers will be here for a step-stomping holiday showcase show.
Here at Poet's Seat, instead of New Year's Eve party, we prefer to celebrate with a Noon Year's Eve Party! Festivities will take place December 31 at 2:30 p.m. with entertainment with Richard Erikson. Good music and lots of noise is permitted!
Residents will be practicing throughout December for their holiday caroling here at Poet's Seat. Practices are scheduled for every Thursday at 4 o'clock with a show on December
24. We hope you will join us.
Happy holidays!
