What's New at
Welcome to October What's New e-News. Residents and staff have been enjoying the gorgeous fall weather this month. Poet's Seat participants in the weekly Knitting Circle have been busier than usual  preparing for the brisk weather that is sure to works its way into New England.

Our gardening residents have been helping keep the mums healthy and colorful. Many other folks are doing special preparations for the Poet's Seat Health Care Center's Annual Craft Fair & Bake Sale on Saturday, November 13, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Please mark your calendar now. You don't want to miss all the beautiful homemade gifts just in time for the holidays not to mention the freshly baked goodies.

So far, we've had a very musical month. The Gray Divas rocked Poet's Seat on October 5th. These musical ladies have wonderfully soothing voices and a great rapport with Poet's Seat residents. They are big favorites, along with Bernie Gonyer who entertained us at the October Birthday Bash on October 8th.

This Friday night is the Current Events and - by special request - Pizza Party! At last month's Resident Council Meeting, there was a resounding demand for a pizza party, with residents calling for pies from Goodie's Restaurant. Ask and you shall receive, with Coca Cola on the side.

Because residents asked for extra music this month, The Valley Brothers will put on a show on October 19th. and Americana musician Dan Daniels, who did a great job entertaining us at our Apple Pie Rehab Open House, will be back for Rodeo Days on October 21.

Election Day is almost here. On October 27, State Representative candidate Denise Andrews will introduce herself to the residents and staff. She will be answering any questions and providing an informative program. Candidates Bill Gunn and Steve Adams will join us on October 28.

All the "ghouls and boys" here at Poet's Seat are getting ready for the Halloween Party on Friday, October 29th.  Residents and staff will wear costumes, and prizes will be awarded for best and most original attire! Our entertainer for the afternoon will be country music singer, Lyle Pierce.

Good Wishes,

The PSHCC Staff
