What's New at
Poet's Seat Health Care Center
Welcome to September What's New e-News! We've had a very busy month at Poet's Seat Health Care Center.
Residents and the Poet's Seat staff had a great time working together preparing our float for the Franklin County Fair Parade. We're proud to say that we won a third place ribbon for our float whose theme was "winning a blue ribbon!" Our residents came up with the wonderful idea.
The Apple Pie Open House to celebrate our new first-floor rehabilitation room went wonderfully.
Thanks to all of our colleagues and friends who stopped by to see the new room, enjoy our kitchen-made pie and listen to the Americana musings of our musical guest Dan Daniels.
We had a lot of special celebrations this month. We had fun celebrating Grandparents Day with families, grab bags, good times and great food. A full roster of performers and performances also took place at Poet's Seat this month, including a play by the traveling theater group The Covenant Players.
We stopped to smell the flowers (and herbs) this month with Rebecca Yafe of Goldthread Farm and Herbal Pharmacy. Rebecca talked to us about herbs and their therapeutic uses, and she brought a nice assortment of her fresh-made teas for staff and residents to taste.
More fragrances and flowers were enjoyed when residents and staff hit the road together to see the glorious Bridge of Flowers on September 27. We'd like to graciously thank the outstanding Shelburne Falls Senior Center for hosting lunch. It was just wonderful.
September also meant the return of our cherished student volunteers from
Stoneleigh Burnham, Northfield Mount Herman and Greenfield High Schools.
Our residents were looking forward to the return of these great kids and the activities they bring to Poet's Seat.
Happy Autumn, everybody!
Good Wishes,
The Staff of Poet's Seat Health Care Center"It's not just about the care...it's about the caring."
