IS IT  POSSIBLE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE???
·        Of the 16,785 total people groups, 6,947 (41.5%) are identified as unreached with the Gospel of Christ totaling 2,832,677,000 individuals.  (Joshua Project- U.S. Center for World Mission)

 ·        According to the World Health Organization, some 56 Million deaths occur per year.  That works out to about 153,400 per day, or a little more than 100 per minute.  Of these, 29,000 die each day directly from hunger or hunger related diseases

 ·        For the price of one missile, a school full of hungry children could eat lunch every day for 5 years.

·        US $13 billion (the amount people of the United States and the European Union spend on perfume each year) would satisfy the world's sanitation and food requirements.

·        Americans spend an astonishing $41 billion a year on their furry friends. (Worldwatch Institute)

After reading these grim statistics (there are hundreds more) I realized that a person could become discouraged and overwhelmed, thinking it is impossible for anyone to make a difference.  Then I remembered the Starfish Story ... A man was walking along the beach when he noticed a young boy reaching down to the sStarfishhore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.  "May I ask what it is that you are doing?" said the man.  The young boy paused, looked up, and replied "Throwing starfish into the ocean. The sun is up and the tide is going out.  If I don't throw them in, they'll die."  Upon hearing this, the man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are thousands of starfish along every mile?  You can't possibly make a difference!"   At this, the young boy bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean.  As it met the water, he said, "I made a difference to that one!"

As I reflect back on 2011 I realize that you and countless other Christians are making a difference, even if it is one soul at a time.  And of course the work in Romania through Tabita Ministries is making a difference by sharing the Hope found in Jesus and giving a practical hand-up when needed.  If you were to ask these dear ones (starfish) in Romania: Adina, Larisa, Cristiana, Ema, Denisa, Andreea, Iustina, Natalia, Larisa, Andreea, Rosalinda, Corina, Alexandra, Francisca, Alina, Damasis, Andreea, Mariana, Valentina, Denisa, Lorendana, Alina, David, Paul, Daniel, Ruben, Laurentiu, Sebastian, Narcis, Patric, Elena, Dimitrius, Carmen, Michael, Teresa, Peter, Anna, Liviu, Florica, Dorian, Flavius, Luidmila, Paulina, just to mention a few from Biserica Crestina Baptista Ciacova if knowing Christ is making a difference in their lives they would shout a resounding AMEN!  They know Jesus because He reached down, through a faithful servant, picked them up and made a huge difference, a difference between spiritual life and death.

We are the hands and feet of Jesus; bless you as you make a difference in someone's life this New Year, 2012.

Mat 25:40 ... "And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!' NLT

In His Service, Milton & Kathi

LOOKING BACK ON 2011
Highlights of 2011
Highlights of 2011
Tabita Ministries is making a difference in the lives of many disadvantaged people, not only providing food, clothing and help for the homeless, but most importantly developing loving, caring relationships while sharing the Hope found in Jesus.  Those currently benefitting from Tabita Ministries are amazed at the commitment of people in Canada and the U.S. who freely give help and encouragement modeling the principle our Lord imparted to us in Galatians 5:14 ...'Love Your Neighbour as Your Self.'  Thank You for giving, truly, you are absolutely essential to this work.  read more

Evangelism & Community Outreach ...

This elderly lady's husband accepted Jesus the day before he died. Two weeks later she accepted Jesus and was baptised.
God has used Pastor Marius and Tabita to plant eight Churches, overseeing the construction of four and winning many souls to the Lord through their gift of evangelism.  They oversee the work of Tabita Ministries in Romania and their determination to follow God's leading and not to give up under great opposition is producing much fruit.

We believe that spiritual poverty is one of mankind's greatest problems.  As we know food fills an empty stomach, clothing protects from the cold and shelter keeps out the elements, but these efforts on their own do not rescue a lost soul.  Only the word of God through the Holy Spirit reforms the heart, giving eternal life.
Emergency Food & Clothing ...

Government help for the needy in Romania is minimal.  Emergency Food and Clothing is provided in part through container shipments.  When funds become available, goods are purchased and sent for distribution to those in need.  When these items are delivered the opportunity presents itself to offer counsel and prayer for spiritual needs:  a practical way to demonstrate the Love of Christ.
Casa Agape Emergency House ...
m
Casa Agape Logo Many families live in sub-standard dilapidated shelters. Finding shelter can be a challenge.  In 2009 a house became available in Ciacova.  Tabita Ministries rented it, repaired it to the point of habitation and moved a single mother and her children into it.   Marius and Tabita continue to work with this family providing Life skills Training, help with food, rent and Spiritual support. Three of the children have faithfully attended the Bible Club Program for several years now.  There are many other compromised people.

Tabita leads the Bible Club Program teaching Bible Classes, Music (Choir and Orchestra), Life Skills Training, etc.  This is a powerful tool for children to gain knowledge of the Bible and receive Jesus into their hearts.  It also provides a means for them to develop social skills which is a help in every aspect of their lives.  Approximately thirty youth and children are involved.
After School Drop-In ...

After school Drop-in
The After School Drop-In Program will operate out of the 'Learning for Life Center' in conjunction with the ongoing Bible Club Program ministry.  The After School Drop-In will be a place of refuge where children can enjoy themselves while being enriched and nurtured.  We will provide a safe haven, a nutritious snack and appropriate supervision for approximately two hours daily.  Our focus will be on relaxed and enriching activities such as Bible Study, Games and Exercise, Life Skills Training and Homework Support.  Our goal is to give these children a chance to discover how precious they are so they can be free to pursue a healthy productive lifestyle as they grow into adult responsibilities.
 Biblically Based Social Enterprise ...
m
A Social Enterprise is a mission driven business that applies market-based strategies to achieve a social purpose.  Biblical Entrepreneurship is about exercising stewardship over God's resources to serve others for the benefit of the Kingdom of God.  The time is ripe to expand Tabita Ministries Romania so it can become more financially self-supportive and continue 'Sharing Hope for a Better Way'.
