Report from Romania ...
Marius & Tabita Ianc
 | Pastor Marius had the joy of performing the first Christian Wedding in his church, Biserica Crestina Baptista Ciacova. This wedding is very significant as both the Bride and Groom, now Christians, were from Orthodox families resistant to anything to do with the Protestant Church. This event broke down barriers because both families attended and had a wonderful time. Some of the guests had never before attended church. Pastor Marius preached about the great marriage feast that will take place when Jesus returns for His bride, the Church, and the importance of being ready.(See Revelation 19:7-9)
|
Both Marius and Tabita put a lot of time and effort into the preparation of this wedding. Tabita wanted this to be a very special time for the bride and groom and their friends. They
anticipate many more weddings as the youth in the church come of age
and are encouraged to pursue marriage as God has ordained. |
Recent Ministry Highlights from Canada...
Milton & Kathi Torio
 | Milton recently attended the Fellowship of
Evangelical Bible Churches (FEBC) Convention in Omaha, Nebraska. He was
part of the Grace Church delegation as well as a missionary representative for
Tabita Ministries Romania. The FEBC Missions Committee requested an
up-date on the recent work in Romania. The Learning for Life Center
multi-purpose building was highlighted. This building is being completed
in part from a $5000.00 matching grant from the FEBC. Read more about

In June we were on a ministry trip to the Cariboo and shared at the South
Cariboo Community Church at 70 Mile House. Ron and Kathy Wiebe oversee
this fellowship that so generously supports the work in Romania.
... We also shared at the Fraser Valley
Christian Center in Abbotsford. This ministry is overseen by Pastor P.C.
Chua. FVCC is a faithful supporter of the work in Romania and a great
encouragement to us personally.
... Recently we were invited to the Bethell Romanian Church family camp-out at a local lake. This is a Romanian
fellowship in Abbotsford overseen by Pastor Corneliu Ardelean. We had a
wonderful time of fellowship and are very encouraged by this groups desire to
be involved in mission outreach not only to Romania but other parts of the
world.
... After our spring trip to Romania Kathi
went on medical leave from her work as a Medical Transcriptionist. She is
recovering and thankful for your prayers. This is a much needed leave of
absence and we continue to trust God for every need. ... And my God
will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 We praise the Lord for the wonderful
things He is doing through Tabita Ministries. read more ...

Some Interesting facts from the internet ...
The
name "Romania" comes from the Latin word "Romanus," which
means "citizen of the Roman Empire."
The empire expanded into what is now Romania under the rule of Trajan
after two wars ending in 106 AD and ruled there until the end of the third
century.
*
Vlad Tepes, the bloodthirsty 15th century ruler who inspired Bram Stoker's
Dracula, was an anti-corruption crusader.
Legends say, Tepes, who ruled the province of Wallachia and was known as
"Vlad the Impaler," was beloved by his followers for ridding his land
of thieves and corrupt officials. His
tactics, however, were extreme, and included impaling wrong-doers on wooden
spikes and leaving them to die at crossroads and in public squares.
*
Bucharest's Palace of the People is the world's largest and most expensive
civil administration building in the world, according to the World Records Academy. Built by Stalinist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu
in the 1980s, its 360,000 sq metres of floor area houses Romania's parliament
in more than a million tonnes of marble, steel, crystal and wood. Ceausescu hoped the building would become
Romania's "Acropolis," but today it is seen as a symbol of
destructive social policies in which his circle pampered itself while most
Romanians went without food and winter heating.
* The
Danube Delta, about 80 percent of which is in Romania, is the largest and best
preserved of Europe's deltas, according to UNESCO. It has the world's largest reed bed and hosts
species including endangered sturgeon, otters, wildcats and European mink. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1991, it
is a waypoint for large flocks of birds migrating from northern Europe to
Africa and is regularly home to more than 300 bird species, including pelicans,
herons, egrets and eagles.
