Greetings!
In April we sent out a special newsletter informing our readers and donors of our need to raise $35,000 during the 2nd Quarter in order to fund our operations deficit. We are happy to share with you that as of this writing we have raised $15,000, almost half of what we need to meet our target, and there is still six weeks to go in the Quarter. Can you help us meet our goal? Our funding is based on love offerings from over 300 different sources which makes managing our budget a challenge on a monthly basis. We usually don't know from one month to the next how much money is going to come in. We have watched time and again as God has provided abundantly for the needs of this ministry and it's many sub-ministries. Please consider being a part of this 2nd Quarter effort. Blessings, Phil and Donna Waldron Mission UpReach www.missionupreach.com |

Baptisms and Bootcamp
Juan Carlos de los Santos, one of our church planters working in Yarushín is pictured here with two young men that he baptized this past month. As of this writing these two new Christians are participating in one of our one-week intensive "Boot Camps". They are not yet one-month-old in their faith and they are being prepared to be leaders in their local congregation.

New Church Plant

Pictured here is our brother in Christ, Marcelino, between René Rosa and Aristides Sanchez. Marcelino has just moved with his wife and three of his eight children to Ojos de Agua, where we have been working since last August, in order to begin a new congregation. His mission is to be there for one year, to identify and convert men who can be trained in our Boot Camp. After one year Marcelino and his family will move on to another community leaving these local men who have been converted and trained as the leaders in their local congregation.

Elder Nominations
After nearly 4 months of teaching on the subject, the church in Santa Rosa, with 89 adults participating, proposed names of men who could stand for elder or deacon. This is a great stride in our maturation here. Over the coming months these men will be vetted by a select committee of faithful men before going through the final process of installing them as elders and deacons. We covet your prayers as we proceed through this process. |

Evangelistic Campaign

Earlier in the year we shared with you that Josué Molina and his family moved from Santa Rosa de Copán about 1 hour away in order to establish new congregations. He is presently working in four different communities; La Laguna, El Llano de Horcón, Santa Teresa and San Nicholas. Last week we held a two day evangelistic campaign in each of three of these communities. We estimate that over 800 people heard the Gospel preached. Only about 50 people sat under our 30'x20' tent but another 100 to 200 people gathered around the periphery. Our 4000-watt speaker system projected the sound to listeners that didn't have to leave their homes to hear the message.
While setting up the tent and the equipment in the first community, numbers of children gathered around. Our CREO boys and René Rosa began telling them Bible stories. René asked them to tell us some Bible stories that they had heard. They did not know one Bible story and none of them were attending church anywhere. These communities are fields "white unto harvest". We anticipate that very soon we will be announcing the formation of three new congregations of the Lord's church in these locations as a result of Josue's efforts combined with the efforts resulting from this campaign. Please keep Josué and these communities before our Heavenly Father in your prayers. |
First League Closes
DESEO continues to minister to children in the public school with our UPWARD afternoon basketball program. Our first season ended with a final game and closing ceremony. There were more than 40 parents from the community that attended. We believe this is an incredible outreach program for the church here. We are now well into our second season with a different public school |

Note From Donna
As I write to you today from my office in Honduras, I am enjoying the company of some dear friends and supporters, Ted and Cheryl VandenMeiracker from Snellville, GA. They came to witness firsthand the works the Lord is doing through our efforts but they are serving a dual purpose by encouraging us as a family. It means a lot to us to be able to share our lives and passion with those who appreciate it and encourage us through their words, financial support, and prayers.
As was mentioned above, a new congregation is starting in a village by the name of Ojos de Aqua. This will be the site of our first summer medical brigade early this month. Already, the community is appreciative that we are taking their needs into consideration. The goal of this brigade is to open people's hearts and minds to the Church of our Lord and be used as a way to meet the physical needs while directing them to the greater spiritual needs that all humans have. We appreciate your prayers for such events, that God will be glorified and His name will be proclaimed as a result. Our goal remains constant in that we are committed to directing the efforts of all visiting groups toward the goal and purpose of leading souls to Christ through His church.

DESEO and JM Gardener
Our public school program continues to grow and expand. This past month our DESEO team traveled to Chimaltenango, Guatemala and was hosted by the Junior Master Gardener program sponsored by Texas A&M. The emphasis of the workshop was teaching children how to plant school gardens that are sustainable with the resources in their communities, i.e. no chemicals. Laura was able to participate as well. |
STEP Parenting Class
MUR is holding a STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) class for parents of children in our DESEO and UPWARD programs. We have 36 parents from the community along with 20 members from the local church that are participating.
This is a blessing for all involved and it helps introduce the Lord's church to new people as well.
